i must ask, whats kind of lower HG and whats the rubber band for?

also whats that thingy on the front sight base?

Lower handguard is Fab defense VZ58 Vanguard MLOK, modified. Hand file and some saw work to cut a bit of handguard off to fit. Will install a bottom screw once the amazon deliver my screw sets. But very solid fit.

I have 2 rubber bends there so I can install my light and manage the cables hehe, still waitting for the amazon :p

Ya I made it myself I might make another one . Ya I centrepunched the inside of the rivets then drilled them out and replaced them with m2 hex round head nut and bolt,
The grip I just shaped the top of the grip to fit inside the t81 slots

Can you show a close up picture of that

What's everyone getting for accuracy from their T81s?

I shot mine for the first time today and brought along the old sks as well. My sks got substantially better groups at 50m. T81 doesn't appear to be zero'd well and this was my first time shooting with a pistol grip so that might be part of it.

No optics or modifications on either rifle.

I need to revisit the topic of accuracy with mine... but i did a pretty thorough test of my bent folder in 2018 and it on average shot a 4-5moa 5 shot group.

My modified SKS will average 2.8moa with the same ammo.

If anyone's looking for a solid AK mag to convert for this rifle, Croatian Mag Scouts fits like a glove after making the standard mods. I hogged most of it out with a grinder then finished with a square file. The body also look near identical to the standard Type 81 mags.

IMO its hard to confirm... one person claims 2moa, the next 6moa... some could be legit, others may be a person who just took the best group of the day... or just shot 3 round groups.

When buying a Type 81 expect 5moa. That way u wont be disappointed when it shoots that, and ull be pleasantly surprised when it groups better lol

Despite my bent folder shooting 4moa, ive yet to enter a situation where the accuracy stifled a plinking experience or hunting opportunity.

What's your luck been with the LMG?

I tend to agree.. I had several SKS and three of them were super grade and shot like crap. Including a Yugo. But my current one is a laminate shooter grade from Tenda that has rust and pitting on it and shoots like a champ. I guess that's because of very snug stock and smooth trigger.

Hey my Type 81 dudes, can you push your safety in and out, like is there a lot of play in yours?

I don't remember my LMG having as much play in its safety.

Accuracy depends on many factors. I have a Chinese SKS which was in a sloppy stock and shot terrible, then I bought a few Russian stocks cheap and put that same Chinese SKS into the best fitting stock. Now it shoots wherever I aim it. Pretty sure a good shooter could get excellent groups out of it.

Im getting the impression from other LMG owners that the accuracy increases once u de-clutter the barrel. Ill be excited to try this once my Tabuk Sniper project is done, i got a bag of Barnaul sitting on a shelf waiting for such a test haha

I've heard that people are getting better accuracy out of the LMGs and SE batch rifles. Wonder if anyone can confirm?

I don't own an LMG but I have a first run 2017 folder and a so called "SE" fixed from the most recent batch. Mine are on par with each other in regards to accuracy... In regards to the SE, they should be called red addition as they are not special. As type 81's go they are fine, but the SE is just a marketing ploy...they are not better or worse. I consider my first run blonde and blued special.
