Type-81 pictures, range reports, and modifications thread

If it bothers you a lot you can try to change it, little welding here and there can change it for you. I didn't like the factory handguard so i changed it and its 10x better

Thats pretty much what I did, I turned the safety into 90 degree throw while I was at it. as for tips; That redish colored plate that locks the trigger group pins in place... theres a good chance u wont be able to drill thru it, braise yourself for that curve ball lol I ended up cutting mine with an abrasive cutoff wheel. Best of luck !

Saw your videos on youtube, so I have a good idea on how and where I am going to mount it, I dont think I have a bend or if I do I have a very small bend. Hopefully it will simplify my attachment of the mount, I found a lot of your vids usefull so thanks for putting the effort into making them!
 
I woudve loved to have put a PK01 on my Type 81, but I can only find them in AK configuration; not the SVD configuration that I need.

I have a PKA optic on my type 81 now, and it accompanies the rifle quite well, except the damn wire connection inside the optic keeps coming loose. Need to take it apart and blue loctite the little bolt that holds the contacts together.
 
What are the 2 tools that are additional to the cleaning kit? They come separate in the box. One looks like a front sight adjustment tool and the 2nd has a long, small diameter hex profile on one end...
Also, how many of you received a sling with your rifle?

Wondering the same in regards to the tools^.

No sling for me, tho I did receive the spare / lighter set of furniture for the folding stock.
 
Was told here and by TI that the round tool with the hex end is for cleaning the gas system.......

I got no sling with the newer shipment of rifles (a month or so ago).
 
Dont worry, the slings are an absolute piece of sh!t anyways. The one that came with Que Son in the original order looks like its been chewed on by a dog.
