Who is going to put an AK Geissele trigger in a type 81
I love the look personally. The rebarreling to me is as the other poster said, a waste of time (relative accuracy capability of the platform) but why not? Having a Type 81 is 6.5 Grendel is already awesome, but if it's not scratching your itch, go for it.
Wouldn't called my T81 "modified" but, thought I'd share the result of what I did to mount a red dot on my "optics ready" T81.
Had a spare slightly-bubba'ed russian-style side rail here, of sufficient thickness to receive the T81's screws. And the only challenge was drilling the two holes exactly where they should be. Measure three times and drill once, sort of thing. Shaved a bit from the top edge of the rail to fit. Once that was done, threaded them, and bingo, I was able to install a spare russian-style side mount. Happy to report, everything lined up as it should and I zeroed my dot a couple of weeks ago. Yay.

For those with fixed stocks who couldn't get a folder and don't want to get a Zhukov, this show's an interesting alternative. The pictured firearm has a SigmaCo 1913/Picatinny stock adapter with a folding 1913 to buffer tube adapter; such adapters are available for purchase from forum vendor the Shooting Edge. Alternatively, if you don't want the flexibility of a 1913 mount, you could get the AR-15 buffer tube adapter and get a folding adapter for AR-15 tube socket adapter. It is also cool to see the Sigma handguard with full extension. Looking forward to TI's handguard solution for comparison when it comes out!

Darn it! I was hoping I'd be the only one who figured out that solution! I was going to wait for a few more parts come in to finish it before posting but at this rate i'd never post it. Three main pieces - getting rid of the grenade launcher device (SigmaCo himself has offered to help me after a couple failed attempts on my part, looking forward to that!), as well as getting a side rail. Really hope Murray 3D gets them back in stock soon! Finally a Magpul AK grip on order from a retailer that likes to drop ship so that's taking forever.

Looks great! Why not leave on the grenade launcher and get the SigmaCo launcher sleeve that attaches via set screw and is threaded for muzzle devices?
Not exactly a modification, yet anyways. Been messing around with the 3D printer and made a dong style grip since I've never understood the appeal...I get it now. It actually makes shouldering the rifle and pulling it in tight pretty comfortable and gives a better hold on the handguard.
Now I just need to get things set up to make it out of wood so I can actually take the thing out to the range and not make a mess of the rifle.
(Could I have gone with a simpler picture, yes. However I've always wanted to try the "floating gun" trick.)

I haven’t used hand stops yet, but I don’t think I’d personally be a big fan of them. I totally get how they’d be useful and why people love them since they’re small and don’t add much overall size to the profile of the rail.
That being said though, I that’s why I’m not a fan of them. I just like the idea of having my hand rest more comfortably on the vertical style grip. Mind you I also wasn’t a fan of the song grip either and that changed once I actually used it, so the same could happen with the hand stops.
