In order to close the top cover, just align it with the front and then push a screw driver threw the hole at the rear before you push it down. I actually think that's what the hole is for. Otherwise you need 10 tries to close the rear cover properly. Otherwise all gets mangled up and you can start all over again.
Definitely not, it’s very easy once you get the hang of it. Try it like this, use your thumb while gripping the stock. Give it slight downward pressure towards the front to clear the rear sight block
