Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

It's really too bad that we have to do so much guesswork, it was only until someone phoned the RCMP and just happened to get the right person, do we get some somewhat clearer answers....

The RCMP should be working with us to make the gun community more at ease with legal decisions ramifications etc.
For example in the states, the ATF deal with the public all the time, and they accept tons of emails and phone calls and actually communicate with the gun community. It's easy and they reply to every one that actually asks a question on the law.

The RCMP on the other hand remain silent, or "don't know" when you call them, and as far as I'm concerned they don't answer emails as I've sent a few.

In my opinion, they are clearly against us and not for us as this simple observation is proof enough. If they are reading this thread they should be ashamed of themselves for making their own job harder, and making our lives more difficult because they don't want us to have guns even though this is a free country and shooting is still very much legal....

Well said Brentn!!! I totally agree that the RCMP should be working with us, BUT, we all know that this is NOT THE CASE IN CANADA. Quite the opposite in fact, with the RCMP's recent actions it SCREAMS that they need to be reigned in by their political masters!

The RCMP should have NO PART of firearm policy or interpreting of policy, IMHO.

Cheers
Jay

IMHO, I wouldn't mind if they did as long as they were open to us, and worked WITH us. If they did then some of their closed minded issues would be corrected by our voice, and some of our closed minded issues would be corrected by theirs.

It would be mutually beneficial.

But no...

True enough from a practical standpoint, however they need to take direction from the current government. That is the law ...

so has any decision been made? Someone mentioned this is in the cbsas hands now. WTF do they have do to with it?

Either the shipment is legal, so they have to release it, or it's not.

Thanks Doc Lector for all the info. So far, I never caught you with any bulls**t story yet, but now I was praying that you were wrong. But it looks that you were right.
When you posted, you were so focused on the long gun registry issue. But now, after the attempts to scrap the registry failed, can you post here even more info about the type 97, please? Maybe you left out details in your posts so far...
So, any more scandalous details about the type 97 issue? We want to hear them... please :nest:

Norinco Type 97

Anyone know the status on the QBZ 97? I'm getting tired of waiting for it to finally be available considering I've paid for it already.
