Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

yeah he is. We need stockwell back as public safety minister.

Haven't been in this thread for awhile, glad to see there's so many of you still in it. I wish I could've stay in, but due to financial issues, I had to pull my order. Thanks again to CAN-AM for getting my refund sorted out. Those guys are in it 100% for the customer......

But anyway, Throttle Monkey, I quoted ya cause I have to disagree with your statement. We don't need Stockwell as public safety minister...

We need him as PM....or someone like him ;)

Quick question, does anyone know if I can sell my restricted type 97? Could I sell it to someone who owns one already? I kind of hate being stuck with something and told I can't do anything with it.
I am a bit hesitant to take it to the range just because there are a few anti gun "hunters" who frequent the range I belong to. They don't like guns like these. They figure it gives true "sportsmen" a bad name because in their expert opinion every bull pup is prohib. So does anyone know if I could get in trouble for taking it to the range still? I haven't recieved any info from the firearms center regarding this. I would just like to hear what others are doing with theirs.
Thanks guys

Why did you buy it in the first palce?

The wost thing is people of the same interest not supporting each other. Do they own a semi auto hunting rifle?? If so they could be next, bet they haven't thought of that one. We stand together or get picked off one by one.

It is only the transfer that is the issue at this point. I suggest you put an extra couple hundred rounds down range just for good measure.

Uh not quite - I'd say the CBSA still has a huge issue or two with the rifle.

As far as transferring it to another PAL holder that would be a big NO. At least that's what the CFC told me the last time I called. It's nice to know that the government can render your property worthless isn't it?

Yes, it makes me quite angry. At the time (just over 2 yrs now) I paid $1700 with all the cool kit that comes with it ie. scope, scope case, a bunch of 5/30 round mags and a manual in chinese. Now I know the value will drop when the other non restricted versions get released. Howerver that's not the issue as it stands right now it is worthless to anyone except me.

At least I now know that its still legal to shoot and the anti firearm "hunters" at my range can get stuffed :D

They will never take your hunting rifles, they will call them high-powered sniper rifles first.

Anyone still holding out hope we are going to get to use these this Summer? LOL

Me too, but I don't know "why"... I guess you just have to call me to optimist! I'm on vacation shortly, and I sincerely hope this rifle is along for the ride... If not... Well, ANOTHER will be & the "intent" of the lie-berals, that being, they keep me from having "a gun", will FALL SHORT... I HAVE LOTS OF GUNS!!!

Cheers
Jay
