Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

Hey Paul Morrison do the current owners have a viable reason to take this to court? One really good way for this to be faught would be for the CURRENT owners of RESTRICTED T97 RIFLES to EACH INDIVIDUALLY take the crown to court

They could, but the RCMP would just bring a motion to amalgamate them into one case.

The risk of going to court is that we could lose and set a precedent that the RCMP are untouchable. I still think it is worth going, but probably by CANAM. Their position is much more sympathetic to a court. They obeyed every rule and are potentially out hundreds of thousands of dollars due to politics. One owner, the courts would be more likely to side against: its only 2k$. But screwing a business for hundreds of thousands...

I think the 'investigation' line is just a line of b.s.

I think those who have tried to get the tech reports through foi requests should complain to the information commissioner.

So where we at here? Same old? What's Canada Ammo doing. Sorry if dumb questions, just dont have tme to go back and figure stuff out.

I would gladly donate to a legal fund.

If a company such as Can am started the lawsuit and then each owner launched theirs, then any combination would be onto Can am lawsuit, making it even larger and more costly if the RCMP lose.

RCMP's lose comes from our tax. Really all I want is someone in RCMP get fired - not the technician but the suits.

Which would make them defend it more vigourously.

Newton's 3rd law of the legal process: for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Sorry for the ignorance, but I sent an email over to the RCMP requesting some information on this topic, and they replied with the following:

"Thank you for your correspondence.

The Norinco Type 97A being classified as prohibited in Canada, cannot be imported."

So are they reviewing this classification or is this weapon no longer available for purchase?

:eek: That is a definitive statement.

That can't be good.

That's not the full story. My Type 97 is still RESTRICTED. I have called the CFC numerous times and it is still classified as RESTRICTED. I can still take it to the range.

Confusing hugh?:rolleyes::rolleyes:
