My latest two from SFRC.. Purchased yesterday July 12th and received an email from SFRC today July 13th with Ref #59673**.
Any guesses when Ontario's CFO will get that one done LOL?
Jay
Hopefully before we die.

Based on my linear projection calculator, you will be getting your approval 14 months from now. You can add a new family member to your family faster than that. He/She will be 5 months old.
we have the initiation data, collected from different post:

I tracked one of my transfers and got an email from a CFO.
My transfer is being completed by a CFO in a province where I don't live.
So, the transfers are not being completed sequentially by number and it's possie that they are being
done by a CFO in a province where you don't live.
So Does all this data collection mean anything at all ?
I purchased on June 4th in Ontario - Ref # 5912000. Called the store today and they said they were instructed not to hand out reference numbers "as per CFO".
I'm wondering if this ban gets finalized if all the pending transfers get denied?
The CFO is working on over 20,000 handgun transfers. They have two dedicated workers and try to have additional employees help as they can. Calling the CFO does NOT assist in completing your transfer. They are working at this I get this information from the CSAAA and the dealers I represent who are in direct contact with the CFO and the CFO is updating the CSAAA as time progresses. The CFO Ontario assures the transfers will be completed as they are reached.
The CFO said that a transfer in the system with a reference number will be completed regardless of how the regulation or legislation of C-21 is dealt with by Parliament.
There is solid case law dating back to 1978 on this and the courts then made the Registrar complete the transfers and registrations begun before January 1 , 1978 when the law required all full auto be registered. This is solid law and applies here and the CFO is following that solid law.
If a car, truck, motorcycle etc. took this long to transfer, it would be all over the news.

FOC is no longer giving out reference numbers it seems, saying they are too busy...so I have no idea if my June 3rd purchase was actually processed that day or even week. :/
helpful thanks...just to build on that...looks like about 69,000 transfers initiated over the month with a third of those in the first 4 days and nearly half in the first week....so i guess things will speed up a bit once they pass June 7th
![]()
and further still, for Ontario, assuming we represent 1/3rd of transfers and they can process a constant 200 per day...as an example, my transfer was initiated on the 16th so that means it will take 76.6 business days from June 1st to complete mine....so about Sept 16 (assuming monday to friday only) or 3 months.
but of course this is theoretical as they did not start from 0 at June 1st...they were still processing May 30-31 for a while but i dont have that data on those numbers
