Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

They just took the money off my card from the Cabela's June 3rd buy. They said they wouldn't do that until it's ready to ship so I assume it's shipping shortly.
My transfer was put in on the third any chance you know the reference number for yours? I'm just curious how far ahead of yours I am.

Unfortunately Cabela's wouldn't give me the reference number. Marstar did for the restricted I got from them. I guess some businesses are and some couldn't be bothered.

I ordered from SFRC on June 8th and never got a transfer number, I am not too worried about it. I reached out to Ryan and was told it was started, that's good enough for me.

Based on everything in this thread, it appears like its gonna be a while, so lets hope the other provinces clear up their backlog and start helping Ontario out.

All good! I had to email tenda a few weeks after the purchase in order to get mine. It definitely seems like some stores require you to ask now considering how busy they have been. Fingers crossed the other provinces can help so we can all get our guns ASAP.

Initiated another transfer today. Ref no 5970###. I’m just happy you can actually get through to the rcmp after a brief hold. Getting constantly hung up on got real old real quick

"Good" news is that there are "only" about 16,000 transfers between my June 27 order (5954) and my transfer this morning (5970), in the 23 days. Volume seems to be slowing down compared to peak times at least.

At that rate, if it were to keep up, Canadians would buy 250,000+ handguns in the coming year.

The slowdown must be partly due to a lack of available handguns to purchase. What becomes available sells out pretty damn fast.

plus money...apart from Jay, we can't buy an infinite amount and people who have already bought a pile unplanned and in a short time have to slow down at some point

i imagine sales of non-restricteds have slowed down a lot in this period
