Same first four digits, retailer tells me to expect the week of August 9 at the rate they are seeing. Currently getting back transfers in the high 5887### range.

Must be higher than that. I had one Ontario biz-pri May 25) ref# 5878### clear a month ago on June 21

The big rush was June 1-7th. I suspect it will take weeks to clear though each day of the first week of june.

Likely 2 weeks to complete June 1 and a few weeks for each day after that. Likely September or October for the June to clear unless the other provinces help.

I 100% believe it can be automated and based on how the AGC is arguing the "nullification" S74 challenges, there's no reason for it not to be automated.

Now if the S74 challengers are actually successful that's actually a pretty good reason not to automate.

By June 7th most places were sold out of everything which leads me to believe that the transfer should somewhat speed up one they get through the initial bulk sales

I sold a revolver to a guy and after calling more than 300 times we did the transfer on paper but I'm not sure what happens next.

I bought one on 31st May as well with ref # 58903xx so I'm a bit ahead of you but still haven't heard anything.
The only way to get ref #s is to buy from a store and ask them or call the CFO and ask them.
Not sure about paper transfers. Maybe call the CFO and ask if everything is good.
You won't get a ref # by email -- just the final transfer notification.

You are incorrect, dealers are still managing to get guns and selling them.
I bought two recently, separated by two days and the ref # delta is around 1700 so about 860/day are still being sold across Canada as of 19 July.

There is nothing to "believe". It is an objective fact that technology exists to automate transfers.
