Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

I have 60004xx from the 17th. That's ~10,300 newly started transfers in a week, over two and a half months after the announcement. Clearly this proposed legislation is already working to keep handguns out of the hands of the unwashed masses.

That what this whole thread is about, facts and numbers, if you don't care then ##### elsewhere, plenty of threads for that.
People like Wolf put thought and effort into the estimates. Coming in here, getting the basic facts wrong, and spewing #### takes a dump on that.

The bottom line is that if your transfer was started on June 1 and it just came through after 83 days, it took 83 days to complete your transfer. If that level of simplicity upsets you, then so be it.
Exactly. I think the argument is June 1st transfers weren't being worked on until some time in July so the days before that, you know, when June 1st transfers were initiated, clearly don't count.
Privacy concerns. The transfer number could be used to identify you.

Bought one June 9. And another Aug 18. 125,787 transfer initiated between the two. I'd add another 25k for May 31 to June 9 and Aug 18 to today.
If 1/3 are Ontario, then there's approximately 50k in transfers to be processed. And who knows how many they complete in a day but at the current rate, it can't be anyore than 100.
My MP is not on our side but I did write Dougie and the Ombudsmans office.
It's a big steaming pile atm...

Messages have gone into my MPP and to Ford's office. Not much else to do. I've waited a very long time for custom guns so can wait this out too. I'll shoot my other guns in the meantime. The alternative is not ever owning the guns I've just purchased.
Do you know when the transfer was initiated? That seems like an exceptionally long wait for May 31st. I had my June 1st transfer come through on July 21st.
Also, another data point, just initiated a new purchase transfer yesterday and spoke with the retailer I purchased it from. They refused to provide a reference # but said he believe the last transfers they had come through to be from June 3rd. Brutal.

June 22 transfer initiated.......still waiting
Wait time are going to get worse if nothing changes, I made some update to the chart so i can update the rate per period.
Also added 2 new column to show wait time based on when transfer was initiated, if you think 85 days of wait was bad for Jun 1st transfers, look at people who bought at July 19, they need to wait a full year !

No one really knows.
We just know they do about 78 transfers altogether (while answering phones from people who don't listen).
