Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

thats a dam good question. Id been wondering about private sales if they stop transfers after the bill gets royal assent never thought about the store shutting down I just assumed they would refunds returns

Most guys placing ads on the EE are making the disclaimer similar to; "If the feds shut down transfers before the transfer is completed, all money will be refunded"

That was as a result of a CGN guy from Quebec who stated here on CGN that if the transfer was blocked, he would keep the funds...

Sellers have been putting that disclaimer up since the announcement.
I really think that once the transfer has started, the CFO will approve it

Ref# 60008xx assigned August 15 from store in ON to ON.
Ref# 60236xx assigned August 31 from store in BC to ON.
Difference is 22,795 tracking numbers in 2 weeks. Maybe the province is important, but this is a scary number when you think of the approval rate.

I suspect that many maybe not all but quite a few may not refund especially if they do not have that kind of money regularly and if its a E-Transfer there's absolutely zero you can do about it I checked when I almost got scammed a week or so ago on one of the gun bulletin boards. probably the same guys selling Hi-Point 40 S&W right now for $1200 lol. If it happens I suggest a class action against Justin and Marco :D lol

That’s a douche move or BS move for the quebequers . I would never under any circumstances keep a dudes money if whatever transaction didn’t go through . Understand he said it in the add but that’s low

In my transfer the registration certificate number is included. I added the gun to my inventory spreadsheet and compared it to a gun I had bought May 25th (and was transferred in 21 days)

Not sure if the numbers are consecutive and relate to new guns, but if they are in the 99 days between my May 25 and Sept 1 purchases 144,908 registrations have been recorded. That is approx 1463 restricted guns per day registered.

What a crazy world Justin and Jagmeet created.

Something to keep in mind though is every time a gun changes ownership, including businesses, it gets a new certificate #. In a 3 month window a gun could have had up to 3 or more certificate #'s, from importer/distributor to the vendor to the eventual purchaser. In the case of transfers to businesses there is no CFO review and the transfers generally go through instantly.

Wolf ya need to post your Chart often.
Like every 5th page.
I need a grim reality check once in a while.
Like arguing with the miss.

Yes but also between those same 2 dates there were 144916 transfer numbers issued. Are there transfer numbers issued every tie the gun changes ownership for import - distributer - store - purchaser?

I shouldn’t have mentioned he was from Quebec because there’s a lot of quality guys that I know there. There’s the odd douche bag in various places.
No, not in his ad, said it in the open forum.

Yes, although a lot of the time the importer/distributor are the same business.

Just to clarify I did not get a email directly from the RCMP Truenortharms sent the transfer number. I also believe that when the liberals table the legislation that they will say from this set date no more restricted handguns can change hands. But all the previous transfers will still be able to go through. The amount of confusion and chaos they would cause canceling all transfers would not be worth the hassle. Maybe the lunatics will leave us alone for once

59870xx purchased from Nordic marksman August 7th. Transfer initiated same day. One question I have is the notice I received from the rcmp started the verification request was initiated on august 16th and the transfer verification request has been processed. The details state it was decisioned on august 16th and that it expires on November 14th 2022. What happens if the transfer is not completed by November 14th? Seems possible I could go past this date based on this thread.

Anyone understand this enough to share some details?

Your Transfer is deep into 2023.
According to the Wolf chart November 14 if it means anything would relate to a transfer started on June 6 .
No Idea unless the Feds are to sneak in some transfer Freeze or cut off on 11/14.
I don’t trust this Government. Any backstabbing is possible.

This is an Ontario thread and some things you’ve said don’t add up.
Are you in Ontario?
You said you received a RCMP notice. What was that notice and are you sure it came from the RCMP?
You also said the transfer verification request has been processed. On what document did that come on?
You’ll have to give more concise info to get an answer.

I'm pretty sure this is 2 different things. The notice is about a license verification, like you would get from a non restricted sale. Gun stores will use the same thing as the personal web services verification that you would do when selling a non restricted to someone. You get an email when they do it and it's good for a while with the same gun store, no need for second verification in that period.

This person is confusing a restricted sale with a license verification

Let's keep the noise and confusion to a minimum guys, keep it about initiations and completions in ontario

My apologies everyone, I’ve purchased a couple lately and must have gotten things mixed up. Thank you for letting me know and sorry to clog the thread up…
