Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Seriously though Ontario truly needs a solution to this. A process that may take more than a year is unacceptable and filled with potential pitfalls. I mean what happens if someone who orders a gun forgets about ordering it and it is delivered to an address they moved away from. What if a person dies waiting? Also what about a business that sells a gun but goes out of business / owner dies? So many things can happen.

Ya, the government really cares about us gun owners, you can tell by the way they keep f###ing us.

Yes!

I'm really hoping to talk to one of the CFOs at TACCOM next weekend in Toronto (if I can get past his security)and possibly get some answers
I am sure anyone working in the cfo office is just as frustrated with this whole situation. Asking if they are considering batch processing etc or why they are not doing that. Hope people are rational and ask reasonable questions, not going off of some anti Trudeau rant, that will just turn everyone off.

Another situation I just thought about is what happens to the gun sale that is valid now to a rpal holder but once C21 is passed they no longer qualify. What does the biz do then. The gun sits in limbo. Cannot be sold and cannot be returned to distribute r due to import / export bans.

Bought it at May 31 night at Tenda, still waiting. I am not sure when they reported the transfer to CFO. CFO is doing June 2 now!

I have a friend who ordered then, his transfer number is about June 6th... Tenda was really slow in initiating a lot of transfers.

This. There is potential for huge problems.

I do understand that it is out of their hands, and that they are doing the best that they can with what little resources they have. I will however ask them about batch processing and hiring more staff. I think that if enough of us ask for it (in a polite way), then that person can go back to their office with feedback. Then maybe it will be considered

Believe what you want, I have the transfer notice with dates to prove it, but why would I lie about this? I'm just as eager as anyone to get my remaining transfer finished up. It seems like you may need to step away from the spreadsheet and take a walk brother

Put your money where your mouth is …….post pictures of the transfer numbers with dates and post pictures of the approved transfers with dates.

I’ll go make some popcorn……….

It just gets more weird all the time.
Purchase from business June 10th - still waiting.
Sold some of my guns to the business July 6th and received a transfer notification (seller) for one of them on August 31st!

So, the gun I sold a month after buying one has been transferred in 56 days, and no sign of the transfer for the one I bought 86 days ago!!!
Whoever bought it is very lucky. That's what it seems to amount to now, "The luck of the draw."

Guys... business seller, private buyer, buyer is Ontario resident, this is the only scenario that estimates in this thread applies to

If you have a completion, post the retailer that you purchased from, initiation date, completion date and reference digits

No mystery, no confusion

Do you have any idea where the buyer of that gun is. An Alberta buyer could have bought it and easily had the transfer done in that timeframe.

Right! Never even thought of that. Thanks. I went back and looked at the transfer notice again and see that the buyer is in BC.
Should have looked more closely before posting.

anyone who does otherwise should have their privileges to the Continental revoked and be declared ex-communicado

i have seen a few comments around what happens if a store goes out of business...well it is not like someone dying in a car accident...a business owner has to consciously file for bankruptcy and then their assets are turned over to a trustee. Presumably there would be signs long in advance like a big "going out of business" sale etc. so i think it is too premature to just assume your money and/or guns will be lost.

as for the CFO at TACCOM, i believe they are there for the gun purchases being made at the show...not sure how good of an idea it is to start harassing them

I would hope no one would be harassing them but it would be fully expected (even by them) that the transfer debacle would be a topic of discussion. If they’re not expecting that to come up. they’ve got their heads in the sand.
