Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Man, they are really playing catch-up I guess. Some guys posted here on the 15th about with 5952### numbers and we haven't seen a higher number since then.

Still waiting on a 59511XX while the 59536XX is done, mailed and being enjoyed by the new owner. Both were P2P. The fast one went out west and the lazy slow one is Montreal to Ontario so go figure.

One more:
P2P
59419xx
Called in Jun 17 (seller) and Jun 21 (buyer)
Approved Nov 17

Buyer call-in is actually really important info for P2P sales. The number gets generated when the seller calls in but it doesn't hit the CFO queue until the buyer calls the CFP so they are all effectively out of order from the get-go (especially with the difficulty getting through to the CFP)

I was hoping to provide some good data on this. but no luck. I called in two transfers on June 13th, both in the 59336XX range. One caller called in on the 16th, and it turns out the other caller has not called in yet. I did get a notice dated November 1st saying that they were missing information - translation one guy hasn't called in yet. I figured the other one was overdue so I emailed and received notice this morning that it was being processed and "It is assigned to the Registrar for explicit approval, which is a common practice and nothing to be alarmed about. I expect you should receive your transfer notification in the next few days." If anyone knows what explicit review is, please let me know.

I had to call about some transfers that were overdue for approvals. They also told me that the transfer were with the Registrar department. Apparently every transfer has to be approved by the Registrar office before the CFO approves it. I never heard of it before this mess started, which is why it is taking 5 months for approvals.

Is this restricted delay just for handgun or all restricted transfers ? (i.e. SBR)

It's for all restricted firearms. I've had an M1 Carbine in the transfer process since July 22nd. They are being treated as all other restricted transfers. It's in the same line my other transfer of 15 pistols and semi auto submachineguns is in. . . . They all go through the exact same process.

That sucks - I was about to purchase a restricted FX9.

Sounds like they've about caught up to where our over-achiever left off on Tuesday, hopefully that means forward movement for the next little while, because my transfer numbers only about 2k behind yours!

That’s what I’m hoping as well. Not sure if someone was getting too far ahead and someone said hold up, help these slackers catch up before you keep going?

That's not true. I was a month trying to confirm one from June 15th and it was cleared in que with the rest from that date.
