Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Good Morning,

Due to COVID-19 and limited staff in the office, we are currently working on transfers dated April 8, 2020.

Thank you,

It seems the complaint to the Ombudsman triggered two transfers to move faster: April 4, issued May 8 and April 28, issued May 12. AB dealer to ON. So, April 28 was over the dates currently receiving transfers.

Tell them to ship it Canpar. Same price and much faster.

Thanks for the advice. Three hours for a round trip to the gun store probably beats Canpar. Even though we've become used to online shopping, a visit to an old style bricks and mortar joint still has some charm.

I finished my side of a transfer on April 27...I'm still waiting. I called the Ontario CFO last Monday and they said it still wasn't processed. This coming Monday will be 7 weeks....

I'm in the same time period for three. One is coming from Quebec, one in Ontario and the last from Alberta. Seven weeks is ridiculous!

I sent them an email and they noted that they are currently working on transfers initiated on April 8! That is 2 and a half weeks before mine was initiated. This is going to be a longgggggggggggg wait.

Called today for an update..... April.30th transfer initiated, AB Dealer to On.....which means I'm at 7 weeks today, was told 3 more weeks wait minimum.....that means 10-11 weeks by the time its approved.....glad they don't handle organ donations.

Ontario:. I did a private transfer on April 9th. I was finally approved June 12.

“Unprecedented times”. The catch all phrase

We go thru cpic EVERY DAY

Whats to process????

Krypes .....
Corporate mergers happen faster

Frustrated in ON....11 weeks and counting

I guess Ill cut them slack tho....Im sure its because the feds are redirecting all law enforcement efforts to gang crime....

I might worry the store I bought from about 3 weeks back will go out of business before the transfer comes through, I mean things were already hard for the LGS places even before the ban and got a lot worse after May 1.

Ontario needs to figure something out. Whether it’s temporarily putting a hold on new transfers or get other provincial CFO’s to help clear the 8,000 backlog.
