Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

I bought a pistol online from Marstar Dec. 23. They were closed over Christmas and New Years, Monday was first day back. I sent a follow-up email, just to make sure it didn’t get buried. Payam replied as usual within a couple hours, he had located the order and had them send it in to The CFO, I called a couple times, sat on hold, finally hung up. Called at 3:30, sat on hold for 22min. Did my part of the transfer (I’m in Alberta, BTW)
Nothing when I went to bed last night; when I got up at 6:05AM today, transfer was complete, off to Marstar and the gun will ship tomorrow.

I called this morning to check on 2 private transfers Ontario to Ontario. One from Dec 15 and the other from Dec 17. The one from the 15th was just processed after I finished calling and the I am hoping that the on from the 17th will be ready in the next day or so.

Showing my lack of knowledge, but when buying a restricted from a gun shop am I supposed to call the RCMP? I thought I only had to call for a private sale.

Over the holidays I placed restricted orders from both Bullseye and Tenda. Neither of them told me I have to call the RCMP (although I am waiting for both... the Bullseye order has been almost 3 weeks now).

Of course, I should call Bullseye and ask them! Will call now :)

When purchasing from a business you do not have to do anything as they will look after it for you. You are correct that when you do a private deal both the seller and buyer have to call to complete the transfer.

Awesome!

And more awesome news... my Bullseye order shipped today (I did call them and was told yes, they take care of everything and I do not need to call the RCMP, as suspected and verified by nitroxace ad greatwhite)
