Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

I don't think I would want the employees of the CFC working from home.
I agree it would be better for their personal safety with regards to Covid19 etc.

I would rather see the CFC have them use every other call desk and keep them separated.
Maybe have some people work different days etc.

But for security of the data, I sure dont want them taking a laptop home and using a non-firewalled internet connection and having someone hack all the CFC data.
I can wait an extra couple weeks for the sake of secure data. Maybe you can't?

BTW, firearms are flying off the shelves in most stores, and there are lots of non commercial transfers as well.
I don't doubt they are swamped.

I have 2 I am waiting for...i can wait

I think that if they were concerned about data privacy, they wouldn't require stores to have paper ledgers of ammo purchases with names, calibers and PAL number.

And just to be even more p1seed....
My QC to ON private transfer from March 16th is still pending.
But my ON to BC, ON-SK and ON-AB were all completed in 24hours. All private transfers.

What date are these slowpokes at now?
Just talked to them....they are processing 03/15 today! Then I received an email confirming the samething! So looks like 7wk wait or possibly more if there was a larger then normal guns being purchased after the 15th.

ON to ON transfer (handgun) initiated March 18, completed 4 hours after the ####ing ban announcement. Guess they aren't backlogged with AR15's and other rifles on the list anymore..

Same here. SK to ON handgun transfer started on March 18 was completed today.

What does happen to AR transfers in the queue that were started before the ban? Will they all be rejected now? Does anyone know? I am waiting for a Colt Canada IUR since early April.

I guess we all know why the CFO has a 6000 transfer back log. Seems like they were told of a ban ahead of time and to hold back transfers. This whole thing stinks to high heaven

I spoke with the ON CFO this morning regarding my transfer that was initiatedon 19 March. She told me that they are currently working on transfers from that week, 16 - 20 March, and that she expects mi e to be completed within a week. I am not saying this is accurate, I am just repeating what I was told by the ON CFO office.

I can't get a hold of these parasites. I have two pending from March 25th and 30th.
Parasites? Really?
These are human beings doing a job, and without them none of us will get our transfers.

In the grand scheme of things - we are waiting 2 months (it’s ridiculous - I get it) to get our firearm that we can’t even currently use. 1 year from now this waiting period will have been completely insignificant.

In the meantime go play with one of your other guns

I sent a email to my mpp politely explaining that some delays are to be expected but why is something that should take less than 24hrs taking 6-8 weeks and perhaps they should look into whatever is happening at the cfo office.
