You'd think this could be automated by now if all information matches up, and no red flags.
Ontario store purchase, to Ontario (me) on March 19th. March 20 received the CFC transfer reference number from the dealer by email (nice touch BTW). I called in April 16th, spoke to a nice lady at the CFC, she says its still pending but she offered to send out an email to me once approved, I guess they don't normally do this for store purchases. She said sorry, with the backlog and volume it will probably be another 2-3 weeks. She suggested maybe around first week of May. I said thanks, stay safe and have a nice day and hung up.
My point is, we know the system may be broken/archaic, but the humans we speak to on the phone are genuinely trying. You could hear it in her voice when we talked. A gentle reminder to all to try and remember that when calling in. I too have a grip upgrade and an extractor kit to install and I cant wait to get my new toy. The grip and the extractor I have had for over a month (part of the same order). Thanks all.
Update.
Ashley from Oriillia emailed me back today. She says they are working on Mar 28 transfers today, so it’s basically taking 8-9weeks currently. [sigh...]

Please keep your common sense out of this thread
I was told today by the RCMP firearms center that there is currently no timeline for restricted transfers to Ontario. She said if the transfer was not approved by the END OF MAY! I should call back for an update. 10 weeks for a transfer? I mean I think the average literate person could probably approve thousands of these a day so is there a million gun backlog or something?
It was already at 5-6 weeks before covid so what are we looking at 2-3 months min for a transfer? Something needs to change here this is a completely unacceptable level of service to be getting.
At this rate. They will need to stop all incoming transfers to actually get caught up. There’s no way in hell they will continue at this pace and expect it to be ok. It’ll just get worse and worse.
