Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Heads up, some transfers are being approved but no transfer notice sent (even when specifically requested)
The way to know if approved is check firearms registered to yourself through the individual online portal.

Then, call the CFO and ask for the transfer notice.

This may be an issue with some email address servers.

Now that’s ridiculous…those two need to be done the same time to avoid another person re-verifying all your info again

Approved one is transferring to the buyer and the pending one is transferring to me. No idea why they weren't looked at the same time. Hopefully I'm not targeted for my comments to our great leaders of Canada lol

Seems like there’s quite a gap between where they are with business to private transfers and private to private transfers. Not sure if they have one person working on the private to private transfers, and a larger group tackling the business to private transfers.

Transfer times aren't going quicker, but we are getting through dates faster because the biggest transfer initiation dates are behind us.

We are currently at 138 ish days from transfer initiation to approval, beginning of October we were at 115 days.

The longest wait Trophy currently belonging to Ganderite at 141 calendar days, although he wont keep this prestigious award for much longer, it changes hands every few days.

My trendline indicates my Oct 10 60500** Pietta will be around 200 days or so.

Buckle up folks, it is going to be a long wait.

Thanks guys for tracking this stuff for us! Much appreciated while we all suffer. ;)

They seem to do batch emails every couple hours. Mine showed in my account when it was approved at 9am and the email came out at like 1pm or something like that.

Hey guys, Is it mandatory to have a shooting range membership in Ontario for restricted firearms registration?

No. BUT when ordering online its easier to enter the name of your gun club at checkout rather than leaving it blank.
Also, "range" and "club" are two different things. You have to be a member of a gun club. Not a gun range. But a club can operate with a range as their "home". One is a physical location (range) and one is an organization (club).
I signed up for Silvercore (an online gun club) so I could buy restricted firearms. Theny local club started accepting new members about 4 months later...and only about 100 spots (which was full in minutes).
