Usually you do. The email arrives shortly after they file the transfer.

I think the process is that after approval by the CFO the transfer is sent to Miramachi and they send out the attached approval record. My transfer approval emails always come from the CFP there and not directly from the Ontario CFO. I am actually made a post checking on that process right now so i could be wrong. It is a technicality but it does add another step.

You don't need a transfer for antique firearms.

How did you just start a transfer to a coworker?

We both have valid ATCs (Authorization To Carry). I bought a few pistols for some coworkers on an account that I was registered to back in the summer (because everything was flying off the shelves and out of stock in less than 1 day). Our plan was to get the pistols within a few weeks, then I transfer it back to them......little did we know it would take 6 months!!
But if you have a valid ATC, you can still transfer a pistol to another ATC holder for training purposes (mostly law enforcement, military and armed services).

I'm confused. Why would somebody in law enforcement or military need an ATC? I thought they were exempted during the course of their duties?

Can you give some examples?
