Lucky guy.

Seems like it will be early next week before mine arrives. V:I:

Picked up 300 rounds of .44 mag ammo and a few ammo storage cases today though, made the wait a little more bearable. :D

Is the Ranch Hand rated for the 45LC +P round?

It handles the 44 mag, but haven't seen the literature indicating that it would accept the +P pressures.

Here's a bit from Paco Kelly on the modern 92 actions,

Rossi uses the same action on their .454 Casull's so hot .45LC's should be no problemo.....

Shot mine last night. Trigger's a tad heavy, mind you I've got Wild West triggers in all my Marlins and I'm spoiled. Later I'll see what the scale tells me it is. Shooting position will take a little getting used to as you instinctively want to pull it to your shoulder. Also I should have checked the sights with a boresighter before venturing out as it was off by a barn door and I didn't have anything to adjust them with. I've heard some guys are taking the buckhorn right off and just using the front sight as a bead. It's definitely not a sniper rifle, but it is something I'd throw into a pack and take with me anywhere as a "just in case".
Also I've got some warmer hunting loads I shoot in the Marlin, and I don't think you want to be shooting too many of them in the Ranch Hand. The gun'll take it, but it jumps quite a bit. I had some cast loads with Trail Boss and they were fine.

I'm thinking about throwing a fully adjustable fibre-optic buckhorn on, or alternately putting on a williams peep and just taking out the screw in sight to give a large 'ghost ring'. I never really expected much from the buckhorns.

I am thinking about going all crazy and adding a rear sight that replaces the bolt safety, adding a rail, then a Primary Arms T1 clone. :)

Outta make it easier to shoot with the dot, and the backup of iron sights if needed.
