One of ussss.. one of usss....

well there is a difference about whether they are available or not, I like ak-47s but since they are illegal I dont get all excited about them.

but since mares legs are available, MINE :D

I know everyone is going crazy over the ever approaching release of these, but who in the calgary edmonton area is going to supply sales of 'em? Every time I ask around no dealers seem to know anything about them.

There is quite a bit of confusion when it comes to short barreled rifles in Canada.
The mares leg will be excellent at educating people about the rules.
They will definitely make it easier for our custom gunmakers to produce short barrel rifles.
This is one of those rare circumstances where our firearms laws actually work for Canadian firearms owners.
I can definitely picture a short 12"barrel , bolt action 7.62x39 coming out eventually!

noone. as far as I know wanstalls is the only dealer of these rifles right now. some other places like elwood epps have the chiappa mares leg and puma mares leg rifles but they are very pricey.

We need more really lightweight short barrel rifles !
Maybe a 12. Inches short barrel scout rifle about 4 1/2 pounds now that would be cool.

some pics

This is the kind of holster I would like.:D

you may be in luck if spacesaver figures that one out, but we will see what he comes up with!

spacesaver has been working out various details for these rigs!!:) I have been asked about that style of holster and, if there are people who want that rather than a pouch-type, I will do my best to make one. Tues. night at the latest I'll start on another belt design and, hopefully, later in the week I'll have an 1892 carbine to make patterns from.
At this point my thought are to offer, on all belts, double layer, suede lined and oil finished. Standard buckle would be antiqued brass, others available on request. Holster was going to be a pouch type, perhaps I'll offer that and a "McQueen" type. Due to the large variation in peoples builds, the holsters will slide onto the belt, not be an itegral part of it. Bullet loops would be stitched, either 12 or 24. Any other suggestions?
Cheers,
spacesaver

Any rough idea as to cost on either of these slide on holsters?

ok hiker,
When I get the carbine and am able to make some patterns I'll be in a better position to price these out. While there is definitely more leather involved in the one design, there is more "handi-work" involved in the McQueen. By weeks end I should be able to price everything, and may have some other things as options!!;)

Does anyone have a photo showing the top of the action? Is there a little safety thingamabob just in front of the hammer or am I confusing this with another levergun styled thingamabob? Some manufacturers have a little button thingymajiggy there. Can ya'll tell I don't know squat about leverguns?

lol yes that thingamajig is a safety. most of us I think are going to remove it though, it kinda ruins the nostalgia.
