Well that's all well and good.... but would they buy a ranch hand?
Well I went shopping for .44 magnum components today... I won't name the store, but it's one of the major ones, and somewhere (until the last few years) I'd previously enjoyed spending my time and money at. OMF was I disappointed once again at the selection... or more appropriately LACK THEREOF. Bought a couple hundred new 44mag brass and a few hundred Hornady projectiles of various weights. Added a box of clay pidgeons to the total and left swearing to never return. It was one of those 'Im not mad, just disappointed' feelings.
So, ya'll got any online suggestions? I like Hornady bullets and lean toward Hodgdon powder most of the time. Though for the 44 I'll stick with Alliant2400 for now. Is shipping on stuff like bullets ridiculously expensive? In the past I've bought movies, guns, books, reloading tools, collectables, and darn near everything else under the sun off the internet, but always figured the weight just made buying gunfeed online silly. Driving at these gas prices for hours and getting stuck in traffic once you get there is getting pretty silly too though... especially when there's poor selection. Open to suggestions....
I've seen native linecutters going in to do a 2 week contract with very little food. Mostly just flour, salt, lard, coffee and a .22 rimfire.
In the field you get into trouble you are on your own nobody will be able to help you in time.
It should be mandatory that every work crew should have at lease one firearm .It is comforting to have a firearm with you especially when there is no cell phone service!
(You know why we call geologists rock lickers every time you turn around they are licking the core samples to see if there is any visible color in the rock) I have to remember not to piss on the core LOL
Deer season is open about 10 months out of the year here on the Queen Charlotte islands.
We are not the ones just killing because it is open.
We wait till the dear are fat
