Hey everybody:
New RH owner here. I'm currently making my way through this forum (There is a lot of info to take in). Bought mine in 44 mag, used from this site. I have read so much about rough actions and stiff triggers that I was fully expecting mine to need some slicking up. When I received it, the action was super smooth (I have two friends that just bought marlins, one in 30-30 and one in 45-70, the RH was smoother than both of them) and the trigger pull was lighter that any of my other rifles. This is great news I know, but it almost worried me that everything seemed to work so brilliantly. So, I actually sent a message to the guy that sold me the gun asking him if he had done any work to the action. He said "no" and that he wouldn't even know how to take one apart. Maybe I'm worried about nothing. This little gun just performs friggin awesome! (It does shoot high, of course)
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but, I just ordered a stock from Boyd's and they now make stocks specifically for the Rossi. After I placed my order online, I called them to confirm that I was getting the right buttstock and not just some forestock or something. The lady confirmed that it was the buttstock for the Rossi 92. That being said, I haven't actually received it yet, so we'll see....
Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the great info (trials and tribulations/what works and what doesn't). I'm pretty hooked on this little lever gun right now and I'll post here again when I get that "Rossi buttstock"
