Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh

Time to build a time machine boys.

^ have beared witness to those days when my ol' man would go into Lever Arms in Vancouver (when it was a quality shop ran by a business man not idiots) and get to handle blk/military rifles and short brl HG's...Man those were good times. Reading the American firearms rags at night , learning the in's and out's of all the good stuff. Now I just get to clean, polish and lub the ol' man's good stuff when I visit. I am not a hard-core AK lover but respect the platform as my pe90 is based on the same design and is one sweet machine. Just imagine getting the same design for what Deckard just posted...?!?! Sounds to good to be true because it was! I feel for the 12x folks and their safe qeeens...(I feel for us non-12x folks too) I am not sure what is worse ...Having ,but can use or not being able to have...Let's just hope that on fine day the honest citizens of CDN will be treated with respect by the Gov. not profiled as potential criminals by what objects they they own...or wish to.:(

(cries more)

(more quite cries)

Thanks for the gun #### guys and please keep it flowing:beerchug:

$350 was a high price then - the 'rinco AK's were in that price range, and the Yugo M70's /SA85's were a bit higher. Mind you - there was a buttload of Indian 1A1's for $99, and $120 Garands, Hakims for $105, SAFN's were $120.....

AR10's are not OIC prohib's. The AR10 feel (nebulously) into the AR15/M16 restricted by name OIC

I must say I was very dismayed to see Gunplumberr's hard work (displayed here in an effort share with us) pissed away by some of the typical morons that ruin a lot of stuff on CGN.

Amen to that!

I know the pics won't be reposted....a guy puts a bunch of time and money into something, wants to show it off..just like all the guys do with those frickin SKS's with Dragunov stocks. Then I get PM's saying that I'm basically a lying criminal. I'm pretty tired of guys that read about a Valmet once ,or heard thru a third cousins uncles brothers girlfriends mother how Delta Forces guys like this AR and that. I have 20 plus years working as a REAL Armourer (not some parts changer), and I really do know what I'm doing around power tools. So to my friends on here that know me, come shoot it sometime..to the others on here, you'll never beleive, because you MUST know more then the rest of us! because you put an Airsoft part on your CQ 311..I'm done with my rant now...I feel much better and I want a hug:beerchug:

^ GP , I was kidding about the ':dancingbanana: ' threat.

Guys like and including you are the reason most of of us noobs learn the specificis about guns we cannot have and the rest we can. I for one appreciate your (and all the other 'good guys') input and contributions...This ain't a 'brown nosing' post at all...More of giving credit where it is really due!

There are to many arm chair generals and plain ol' dickheads on this site and your creed are the benchmark of what we should all strive to be. Giving a life time of pro. knowledge and asking nothing in return...IMHO at is a noble thing.

I missed the pics of the gun in question, but that really does not matter.

This site is about the fraternity of firearms owners in Canada...no matter the style, disipline or passtime...I hope we all start acting like it:( .

Thanks again to all the solid contributers to this fine forum:beerchug:

Claven, here are pics of M78's ... I think there has been some confusion as to which Valmets we are discussing.

Those are the military configuration M78's right? I was referring to the "valmet hunter" config that looks kinda like a Saiga hunting rifle.

I wonder who that asshate is.

Ditto, post up the names! Perhaps a ban for a week is in order?
I think you should keep the pics up, and let the people see the wonderful work you can do (its just like sxyglock, when he posted pics of the first P90 in Canada, its all about jealousy, thats all ;)), and let the #######s be #######s. Forwarding their user names to greentips here wouldnt hurt!

If Im ever in AB, I'll take you up on that hug offer ;)

Cheers!

Yes they are, and I gathered you were referring to the 'Valmet Hunter'. I suspect a few of the differences in opinion stemmed from people referring to both of these models as M78 Valmets. As you can see from the pics , there is a difference which might explain the 'bubba' comments .... which IIRC were mostly intended in a light hearted way.

There was also an argument over value of the rifles. You claimed about $2000 maximum and another poster about $3000. I think these 2 prices approximately reflect the values of the 'Hunter' vs military config M78. Mind you, I think the value of the Hunter more like $1500, and I must say I would be unlikely to part with my M78 (military config) for less than $3500.
