Varget

Thanks every one!! I bought a pound of IMR 4166 Enduron that is supposed to be quite close to Varget!!!

IMR Enduron are supposed to be cleaner and really stable too....
But not sure of what type. My two caliber are 30-06 and 9.3x62

I tried to substitute IMR 4166 for IMR 4064, they are right next to each other on the powder burn chart.
4166 is an Enduron powder.
For the life of me I can’t get 4166 to group in .308.
Using my little bit of 4064 on hand was grouping well and my little bit of Varget was making itty bitty groups.
No point in developing a load for a powder you don’t have much of.
Fortunately Higginson now has IMR 4064 so I bought 16lbs.

I'm trying to find a shop that will ship a couple lbs. of BLC2 to NL?

Have you tried Higginson?
They have it in stock.
Price seems cheap compared to other powders.
I would just order an 8Lb jug and save some money in the long run on shipping and hazmat.
Powder prices aren’t going to go down any time soon.

I’d use a magnum primer and whatever powder shoots well. 4895/varget/RL 15.

Temp effects on powder won’t matter much within the range of a 9.3x62 imo.

Vargets supposed temperature stability is irrelevant to me as the lots are not consistent.

if you have the same lot it is important for bison hunting that can during cold time ...

a few years ago i asked the same question and it came up that magnum primer was the solution for cold with varget.

Just picked up a few lbs of Varget at Flys in High River. They also had a bunch of Retumbo come in this morning, so a few lbs of that came home with me as well.
If they got a decent shipment, maybe others up here did as well.
