Varrying degrees of breaking the law or poaching, etc...

I think they need a program where every deer, rabbit, goose and duck that land on tour fields and eats, you the hunter plays for. You like me feeding the game you kill, you should pay me. this year had about 1 acre of corn gone at 200 b per acre and 5$ per b that is 1000. So every one that hunts but do not own land can send me 10 and that would be 100 of you. Pouching, START FARMING SOME LAND AND THEN YOU CAN CALL IT WHAT EVER YOU WANT! Till them pay me or STFU.

So what you are in essence are saying is that you own the wildlife that feeds on your land?

As you can see, these fellows are alive and well. At a quarter to 7!! :D

As for frank derbyshire's comments, they are the Queens deer, lol.

Just giving you a rough time, I recall another thread where you had mentioned lack of deer in your stomping grounds.:)

I think what Mr. Derbyshire is saying is the crown owns them-the public wants to utilize them and the landowner provides habitat for their survival with no compensation. As a rancher myself it can get a bit old hosting the party. In Saskatchewan an outfitter can make X amount of $$ guiding goose hunters on your fields and all you are allowed to do is smile and nod if you've given him permission. In the drought years having a herd of deer or elk eating up $100 a ton hay gets old too. Most people up here if they get too bad have to call in the natives for a huntfest.

Sign should read............

NO HUNTING FOR KELLY!!

why punish others for my actions? ;)

Just an observation, aren't the farmers usually the first ones with their hands out lookin for federal money to subsidize their losses and supposed low grain prices?

If I sell widgets and people don't buy widgets like they used to guess what? I close my doors and go sling coffee at Tim's. Nobody there to help me out with subsidies and tax breaks.

no, just a grand. i love how everyone wants something for free. but if the farm er complains about feeding the wild life we are crying. You comments make me put up a big sign kelly. NO HUNTING OR TRESSPASSING.

I love this place! :)

Some of the guys here would make a case of the immorality of picking up a quarter on a crosswalk.

Then call you a criminal for arguing the point.

I say that this thread is pretty much doomed to go the same way all the other "Morals" threads have.

Hows that spelled? Eye Bee Tee Ell! :D

What's the saying, something about the guy that is without sin, casting the first stone? We need more rocks !

Cheers

Buy some land Kellymeister hop on the agricultural gravy train with the rest of us-open your gates to one and all. There is not really any advantage or incentive for any landowner to allow access in Saskatchewan to let people hunt other than population control. We should all be thankful and supportive of the many that do.

Yes, this thread has entertained me thoroughly tonight! :D

Oh FYI, I don't hunt on private or farm land, just the Queens.

Too many people forget in Sask that it's a privilege to hunt on someone's land...

I actually believe that we should be hunting on crown land(non-land owners). There is plenty to go around Sask for everyone.

If it is private land, it is the land owner who should be hunting it, not the public. If you are if you are there by invite, so be it, not going to ask to hunt on it.

To me that feels like asking to borrow the neighbors wife for an evening. Just don't seem right.

Oh and I think we are sliding way off topic too. ;)

I think part of the reason hunters tend to "stretch" the laws is that we have a certain segment of the population for whom it is perfectly legal to do many of the things for which others would lose their hunting privileges and be fined.

I know many locals here are quite fed up with two sets of laws. My $.02.

Please discuss,

What have you seen, did you report it?
Haven't witnessed anything? Would you report something if you did?

What do you consider "worth" reporting?

The Law: Is it "The Law is the Law" to you, or are you in the "varying degress of lawfulness" camp?

Note: I know this is a bit of a pot stiring, but please lets try to keep it on track and only discuss your views on poaching, turnng a blind eye to poaching, etc..

Seen a fella loading a deer in Sept(closed season) of last year. Did not report it.I knew that the person in question had hit some hard times, and this deer would be needed, and used by him, and his family. Had someone else seen, and reported this person, it would have put the poor guy in an even harder situation than he was already in.Sometimes it's just better to keep ones trap closed. I did not consider this poaching.

I hope you're in the US, because otherwise you are breaking the law by requesting payment to hunt your property...

kelly the queen should keep her animals from running at large. she keeps them and feeds them she can do what ever she wants with them. till then she can FRO. Or we can keep them at your place and you can feed them. Where do you live i have deer, rabbits, goffers, coons, skucks to drop off for you and the queen.

Hey buddy, you don't truely own the land or the animals on it. If you don't want wildlife on your property fence it accordingly.
