Video of the day

Although I admire the DH Mosquito and all it's accomplishments, I find it difficult to watch 633 Squadron (1964) or Mosquito Squadron (1969) movies.
Now knowing they basically destroyed 3-4 air worthy planes just for the movies.
Here's a pic of a Fighter and a Bomber.

You can see how they butchered several bomber variations into fighters by adding fake guns for the movie.

It's like watching a vid of a mint K98 having the stock bubba'd !!

Back in those days, there were still a lot of those planes in the bone yards and likely even a few kept in reserve in other nations.

It's better than seeing them torched and the metal bits being picked out of the ashes.

As for K98s, with over 10 million of them being produced in Germany alone, if the sport hunters hadn't got to them, to make into hunting rifles, they wouldn't be worth anything near what they bring now.

This music, initially used by the French Foreign Legion in its psychological action, was adopted by the Portuguese Commandos for the same purpose. As part of the daily lives of those who fought in Africa, music presents itself as one of the greatest and certainly unforgettable icons for the fighters of the various commando companies in Overseas.

A tribute to all those who, integrated into Commando Companies, fought overseas.
Honor be recognized.

For those of you who have been following this (I have, off and on, for the past 10 years or so), the Air Tractor won the contract, being adopted as the "Sky Warden." It's a neat aircraft, and a logical choice for low-intensity conflicts. 1 more nail in the A-10 coffin (although A-10's never really die).

Short clip from the aerial gunner practice last year.

Axalp, the only airshow where the airplanes come from below the spectators and where they use guns.

Any resemblance to a crop duster is purely coincidental.
