Tire iron didn't work for me. I had to take a giant screw driver and grind the tip untill it fit the screw slot perfectly befoe I could get it out.

go to princess auto and buy an easy-out kit. $20 and works perfectly, without any damage to anything.

Can someone tell me just what these CZ858 stocks are made of ?

It looks like OSB board - chip board, but is this just the outer or is it like this all the way through ? Solid OSB ? Can this toothpick and glue look be removed ?

I am wanting to refinish the stock on a cz 858 when I get it and am thinking of ideas.

I broke one Yeah they are the same all the way through. It would look better refinished.

Wood chips in resin. Duracoat or something like that over the entire gun and stocks a nice black. There are pictures in the thread somewhere.

I thought if the chips and resin was just a covering I could strip it down and find some sort of wood grain underneath and do this to it but I guess not.

Maybe it wouldn't look so bad if I did the rootbeer candy/clear paint job on it anyway. The chip look would show through but it would give it a nicer richer look I think.

Also what is a good way to strip the finish on these stocks ?

Any thoughts ?

Flobalob refinished the plastic/wood stuff on his cz. it still has the same material, but he sanded it and clear coated it I think. It looks pretty good

Man, that cosmoline stuff REEKS!! I'm not looking forward to removing it, but it must be done!

maybe prototype or some special forces

prototype from one czech firm - should be used especially during escorting car transports - no need long shot but good penetration

is the LOP any longer with the AK stock? how is the cheek weld?

LOP is the same. The stocks are about the same lenght.

The ak stock is a little higher than the orignal It would be best on a CZ/VZ with some kind of optic on it, but I can still shoot with irons fine.
