If you have more than one mag, why would you use the charger clips?
And by the way, they are NOT stripper clips. This is a stripper clip:
I don't know what's worse, my incorrect terminology, or the fact that you just posted a pinched male nipple... Anyways haha ok charger clips!
and chopper, I am really good with the charger clips. I can typically load the same mag with a charger faster than the time it takes to change the mag. But mainly it's more convenient to carry a pocket full of charger clips than a belt full of mags. Furthermore, even if I carried a belt full of mags after they were spent I'd still have to spend time reloading them, so I figure carrying a bunch of charging clips is all around more convenient.

look at the design of the weaver rail carefully, it is only supported on one end and the center, having the other unsupported end over the ejection port and constantly being hit by ejecting casings , you dont think that will have a negative effect on the rail? well, then let me know after several more trips to the range, it will be pretty obvious by then.

True the 858 spits em out with gusto (my empties bounce off the roof above me ) but the rail seems stiff enough, my bud says he has had no problems so far - we shall see after more hundreds of rounds - if it continues to work I will try it but with a full scope (if I can match up the length for eye relief) on my second 858.The scope test will tell as the gimble mount on a reticle is probably more sensitive than a red dot. That would be more of a problem than a weaver rail breaking from acting as a brass deflector.
That just gave me an idea ! A weaver rail that clamps on the scout mount weaver rail but over the receiver - a backwards cantilever mount,that would solve the length problem for the rear scope rings - something from A.R.M.S maybe?
DUH ! Just got back from the range - a buddy solved the front hanguard removal to clean the gas piston with a scout scope mount WITHOUT having to grind it up.
Put the weaver rail on the mount BACKWARDS - over the receiver - it protects the optic from the ejecting brass and I saw NO stovepipes ! If it happens I'm sure you could file the bottom sholder off on an angle . Possibilities - A full length scope maybe ? using rings in front of the turret only ? Anyone tried it ? Comments ?

FINALLY ! Finished one of my 858's.Thanks to the resources at CGN.The straight line recoil stock,Aimpoint Micro and Pauls muzzle blast reducer I can do rapid fire 200 yd gong shots faster than any of my buddies. Thanks to all the good people here , the knowledge available at CGN is much appreciated.

the little square on the mag is skate board tape which is on the end of the mag from bottom to top - the nob on pauls fore-end top is a bubble level that clamps on the weaver rail so I can shoot 1/2 inch groups at 100 YDS - the stock is an ace (THANKS FRANK) - the pistol grip I made -
