Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

THat looks plain wonkey, I wonder what the shear strength of those screws are that support the lower picatinny rail to the Ar's heat shield?:p ....mind you that could be a Canadian Legal Flare launcher he has bolted on...so recoil would be minimal!

Does anyone out here have experience with the INFRATEK quad rail system on the CZ 858?I have one mounted,it looks and feels great,and I can still use my iron sights.My question is :will optics hold zero with the constant taking on and off for cleaning the gas system?Will they at least be close?Or will I have to re zero every time?

i have not used one but if its any good as all i should stay with in 1/2 moa.
if not they junk it.

No it will not due to the varying tension on the ferrule plate from the locking screw at the rear.The top plate matters little. The tension changes with the different heat of the barrel causing the groups to shift vertically (a lot). The greater the tension on the ferrule plate from heat on all ak styles causes this.
My solution was to double nut the locking screw (one as a jamb nut) and blue locktite to keep the same pressure constant , just tight enough to lock in , then I knew how to aim according to how hot the barrel was.
When cold I shoot 1/4 inch at a hundred with wolf hollow point target.
But I use a scout mount. Steel on steel . If you mount on the handguard the difference will be greater.

The truth is I doubt any upper handguard style mount will be truely solid and could give some slop weather you can feel it or not. You would only really see it at ranges 100m or more I'm sure. So for CQB the upper handguard mounts are probably fine. All IMHO though.
 
Was in P&D at 5 PM Thursday afternoon buying a hand primer and supporting my local sponsoring dealer. They were unpacking what appeared to be about 10 non-restricted VZ-858 Tac.2's.

Dianne didn't have them priced yet. If you're looking for and 858 and haven't been finding one, act quick. The last lot went in 3 days.

i spoke to wolverine a 2 months ago and they said they dont have any non-res cz858 .

OK, but not Romanian furniture is red...it varies. Let's see what you built. I will start working on an RPK stock soon.
