  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

This is the one thousandth post on this topic. :D

I love my VZ58... best $600 blaster I ever bought.... I want to get mine stripped and parkerized... the paint sucks rocks. I'd love to have a decent synthetic forend and pistol grip for it too!

Yeah, but this is the 1000th reply!!

I just have to say that from the moment I first saw a post about the VZ58 coming into Canada I was really taken with how cool they seemed. As they came in and their was a bit of an initial bad reaction, as the non-restricted 858 was brought in, as more and more people have bought them and shot them and modded them and broken them and had problems with them and shared their experiences with them, my perspective on these rifles changed a bit.

One thing that hasn't changed though is my opinion that these are one of the coolest, best and bang-for-your-buck top-notch milsurps in Canada today and I'm very happy to own one.

Ahh..... yes comrade, I stand corrected. I meant to say 'military', as that is the closer translation as you state. :)

Vojna means War Vojensky really has no word for word translation Its like saying Warly. Therefore a proper translated interpretation would be military so Vojensky Material is Military Material herr comraden :).

Also the Czech and Slovak military has not gone through an all out or any real upgrade of their existing VZ 58s, therefore most of those pictures with different stocks are not Vojensky Material. This also goes for the B T forehand rail grip. Its not even manufactured in Czech or Slovak republic.

So I very much like the top foregrip, and having an area to bolt on a picatinny rail on sides and bottom is good.

I prefer the G36 type stock the best. The MP5K PDW type stock is also good, but the G36 suits me best. Ever since I found this picture, I've wanted something like this...

I would like a plastic extended pistol grip, such as this one I made. I think everyone would agree the short one is for weefolk.

I think if there was a Canadian source for replacement stocks, there would be a market if the price is right. I firmly believe the appeal of the 58 has to do with its affordability. Start entering the higher price range with add-ons, then you might as well get an AR.

What do you all think?

Would you buy Canadian sourced synthetic furniture?

I really like that short barreled synthetic stocked version, it would look better with a 'krinkov' style stock, hmmmm, would look very good in my safe.
