VZ-58s and more...FAQs are Post 1

Q: Considering this monster thread, what do you think of the VZ-58 type rifle?

  • It is a beauty as it comes, and a must have, since it drives Libs bonkers.

  • It is best pimped out and dressed up, a far cry from an NDP convention.

  • It is true it was the first cool gun in the Cdn. market for a long while, but I'll pass.

  • It makes me think of snide remarks, as I am a gun snob and the 58 is affordable.

The stock and grip are made by a Czech manufacturer. They are on a CZH2003-S I have a sample package of stocks and grips enroute.

You sir are a king among men :)

Does that stock come with its own folding hardware, or does it use te pivot, etc, from teh metal folder?

I want some too, in canada yet?
Its like with most of these items , they can be available in Canada but I have to order more then one……which means …I have to have more then one person interested…..either way, once the sample shipment is here, I’ll test it and see if they are worth the investment. Based on the specs and my correspondence with the company I believe these accessories are of top quality. The Czech police and military are amongst their customers.

The top handguard is very wobbly to put anything on it as per your pictures.

Do you have the front rail on your site in stock? It looks more solid because of the screws on the bottom handguard.

With a red dot/holo sight there, does the front sight get in the way?

I'd be in for stuff too.

The manufacturer reassured me that his hand-guards are solid although I’m not looking to bring in the ones with the rails, just the ones without as well as stocks and grips.

The hand-guards on my website are similar to the B&T ones. Engineered fit and 0 movement once installed. They are in stock.
The red dot/holo sight clears the front sight so no problem there.

I wonder if that AR15 style stock kit can accomodate other stocks, like Vltor or Magpul CTR...?

Good question.....I was actually thinking about that today. I will run it by the manufacturer. ...... I'll let you know once I find out

This is great. More and more accessories for CZ/Vz, soon everyone will be able to customize theirs to look unique, like how they do with AR. I've always been partial to rifles from Eastern Bloc, cause they remind me, sort of our-of-date and clumsy but don't mind being roughed up. :) As soon as I get myself CZ858, I'll be working harder to get me those accessories. ;)

858 for IPSC

Does anybody here who use 858 for IPSC? I would like to ask you how big PF with wolff ammo you have. But I think with MK2 with longer barrell than with classic lengt.

Here's mine with and without a vfg.

In order to hold zero I replaced the top cover take down pin with a wingnut and screw to attach it tightly with no play. Hopefully I'll get some non-corrosive ammo in the near future so I needn't take the handguard off everytime I go to clean it and lose my zero.

I've got both Hakko panoramic sights and they're both very nice with fine reticles. The replica I once had was complete junk.
