Hmmm, maybe that is why they put them on sale/dropped price, a couple years ago! I had a .40 and sold it, it just didn't fit my hand right. So will FN send the striker or do people have to send the firearm in for work?
Honestly, the set of circumstences are so hard to replicate in real life, and the simple fact that the "issue" happens only when you have your finger already pressing the trigger fully to the rear.... I mean come on, if you did that it means you were 100% intending to discharge a round to begin with.
It's not like the gun is litterally waiting to shoot your ass by itself like the P320 did.
I watched the video thrice.
I tried to replicate the two conditions illustrated, on my FNS pistols, unloaded.
None of my pistols “fired”. I’m keeping them.
I may speak or write to them about the issue and ask them to upgrade the firing pin.
Not really.It's basically a slamfire.
There's a recall page on FN's site. Pop your serial number in there to see if you're affected.
Just checked, and both mine are affected by the safety recall, I'm going to call FN in the states today and see how they intend to deal with Canadian customers. I'm thinking it's probably going to be a pain in the ass going thru the Canadian distributor,, anyone know who that is? If possible I'm just going to get them to ship me the new strikers and have them installed myself,, but I bet it takes forever to get the damn thingsThere's a recall page on FN's site. Lee3444 the issues is not that you never have the gun loaded unless it is pointed down range. The issue is the only time you don't and the gun goes off. Murphy lives and he lives in all of us.
FN should have recalled all of the pistols and had them either corrected or offered a replacement. It looks to me like when FN found out about the issues they just quit making the gun and when their dealers found out the gun had issues, they collectively just put them on sale to unsuspecting gun owners. If someone were to get hurt due to the corporate decision I hope they get their butts sued off.
It would be interesting to hear what the Canadian Distributor was told, if anything, and what prompted the gun going on sale.
Take Care
Bob
