Weatherby vanguard 2. What do you guys think.

they only lack in one thing no left handed option. but nothing is perfect in this world.

a copy of a sako action made in Japan nothing can be better for the price.

Whoever actually makes it is not really relevant. They shoot, and are of excellent quality. I own 2 S2's and a 308 carbine with replacement stock. All are accurate and very reliable shooters. Pretty tough to beat for your entry level dollar.

Never had one, but shot a friend's Vanguard a few times (not Vanguard2.) That plus what I hear from other owners tells me it's a good rifle, good value. If it fits you and you like it, get it.

Love mine 2506. Shoots .4 inch groups at 100 yards with stock Barnes Ttsx vortex. Next gun will be a s2 In .338 win mag.

When I was tryin out the feel at cables I found I liked the way the stock felt compared to the Tikkas. I own three different Tikkas and find the stocks feel so cheap.

The weatherby definitely feels more solid.

Thank for all your comments guys. Definitely feel more confident in picking one of these up now. Probably goin to buy one in 30-06 so I can buy the detachable box magazine set up.

Unless they have a magnum setup. Does anybody know if they have one for the magnums?

They do not have a detachable mag for magnum caliber's. If they do i haven't been able to find one for my .300win.

My Vanguard 300 Win (original version) has been my go-to rifle for about 15 years now. If I'm up to it, it will punch sub 3/4" groups with factory ammo. IMHO, better rifle than a Rem. 700. Only complaint is the bolt release, don't know it they improved this on the S2.

Set up with a Pacific Research (now Borden) stock...

Just what you see on the website, so far the detachable box magazine is only available on Vanguards in .30-06, .25-06, and .270Winchester.

The best value in firearms today. Accurate. Great trigger. Amazingly simple bolt to takedown and clean in the field with no tools. Stainless is great. Incredible machining and build quality. Greagf quality control.

Worth three times its asking price.

I HAD a vanguard in 270. I would personally save up and spend it on a tikka. The vanguard is heavy and mine anyway, was rather picky on its ammo. i like the weight that ive shed, and the co-operativeness of a non finicky eater!!
