Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 Kryptek Typhon

Thanks guys. I'm totally new to the rifle scene. Had been planning for awhile, and on impulse buy figured this was too good of a price to pass on for my first rifle. Will keep an eye out for scope deals. Is 3-9x40 pretty much the standard for 100 or 200m range shooting?

Ummm thanks for the highjacking... I do believe I got my answer though it's a great deal. Thanks for the input guys on my post.

Peace

Okay guys, I bit the bullet for my first rifle. Got it in 223 :) Can anybody suggest me a decent budget scope/mount package for less than $300 for this rifle for use on the range?

LOL why you buying one too :) ... Looks like your hiding from your wife then :p More over I went to look at them today again, and see if they had the highlander one in 270, which they did. I can't really decide between the black or highlander look. The highlander was marked up a bit on the two they had. They both were sealed in the box still... One even had "fluff" in the packing when they unboxed it... totally odd.

See if they have one in 300 win mag.............svp................cou:

I picked up one of these yesterday. Just thought I'd post up a bit more info because the details on the wss site are pretty sparse.

The listing is poorly described. I'm not sure if it is an early, non-branded wby-x vanguard but nothing in the box indicated wby-x. Came with a weatherby sticker. They have the picture of the long barrel version up but it is definitely the #3 22" heavy barrel. All the specs match the newest tr model vanguard on the weatherby website.

Definitely a version 2 action. All the second generation vanguards have serial numbers starting with VB. The only difference seems to by the Typhon pattern which they are no longer using.

This last listing is the regular vanguard in discontinued silly-camo that isn't that bad in real life. They have the pictures mixed up, showing the short barrel tr photo with this gun. I checked them both out in store and this one (long barrel, regular vanguard) feels way lighter. Still showing stock in Calgary, Langley and Nanaimo in various calibres.

Steal one while you can.

Are you sure it's the regular vanguard? Description says series 2...i hope so, because that's what I ordered!

edit:looks like it is part of the wby-x line

I think by regular he means the 24" barrel as opposed to the shorter heavy barrel on the TR model. Im pretty sure these are all S2 actions.
I go to try out my new one in .270 today and so far i'm very happy with it.

Stock at wholesale is getting slim. Called for a .223 and ended up with a .308... Only .308 and .270's left I'm told.
For mail order anyway.
