Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 sale 43% off

I used furniture stripper, the gel type...brush on a light layer, let it set a couple mins (doesn't take long and you don't need a thick layer of stripper), and then scrub and scrape it off, it comes off easy...I used scotchbrite pads and plastic scrapers, took 2 or 3 cleanings, the first one is pretty messy (2 layers of primer under the dip)....and then a tooth brush to scrub out the checkering on the final cleaning

need to wear gloves as the stripper I used burns, and I wore a mask, nasty fumes to be breathing in....(plus I installed epoxy flooring all through school, I've inhaled enough chemicals for a lifetime, pretty cautious about that crap now lol)

next step is a light sanding, degrease, and then prime and paint

I hope you guys realize you are destroying it's collectors value!;)
That's sort-of how how I feel about that phlamo camo.

Many will find it obnoxious, much like when I wear one of my LEAFS hats. Complete strangers will come up to me and harass me when I wear it. I expect that rifle will be the same. :)

That was you???
They are still available in country ( the gun ) but at the higher price of course.
It pays to shop around and be ready when a deal comes ones way.
The gun isnt for everybody regardless of the paint.
There are a few in the EE but, factor in shipping...
Someone will let it go for less money..eventually.
Tight Groups,
Rob

Well like they say, best way to make your vacuum cleaner suck, is to put a maple leafs sticker on it!! Haha

I finally got my 223 to the range today wearing a vortex cross fire ii 6-24 x 50 BDC reticle. It's a shooter grouping 3 shots of winchester white box varmint at .685".I can't wait to try some real ammo.

I just picked one of these up. How did you strip the blaze camo off exactly?

I used acetone and a $1 nylon pot scrubber from Wal-Mart. Did it in a rubber maid container and when the acetone got to cloudy I would dump in and pour some fresh in. Worked excellent. No damage what so ever and the checkering is as deep and sharp as it can be on a synthetic stock. Really like my Krypneck camo was a bunch of fun to do as well.
