Welcome CZ(VZ) 858 Tactical

Getting back on topic, CZ52 & Norcy -I'm very interested in seeing photos of the inside of the receiver, the trigger group internals, etc. I'd like to see how the mods were done to make it SA-only. Just curious how this will compare to the VZ58s in terms of implementation and workmanship. Probably exactly the same, but I'd still be interested in photos.

I'm also interested in the wagwell area, as seen from underneath. I had to slightly reshape the "corners" of the forward lugs to get mine to feed reliably, and I'd like to see what these spots look like in the '858.

Thanks.

Here's some more pics... including some inside detail. A quick note, the camera tends to make the gun appear somewhat light blue in color, it is actually black(not parkerized!!). Let's hope moderators won't get pissed off because of all these pictures...hopefully even they like guns...

Everyone was #####ing and complaining that I was #####ing and complaining.

You and others (came across) as totally over the top. The "debate" was a flame, pure and simple.

It wasnt a debate. Marstar was lying, they where cought lying, and the usual a$$ lickers came out and made Marstar sound like the victim.

"Oh its fine they lied, aslong as we get our rifles!"

Same stupid people are the reason Skorpions go for nearly 4 times more then the CZ assault rifles.

Next time marstar sends you a mauser with a sewer bore and the add said "brand new" you'll have brought it onto yourselves.

On wolverine's website, they say that the cz 858 is a completely different rifle than the vz58! Can someone explain to me the difference. I think they are interesting guns, but have no idea which one is a better buy? I don't want to hyjack the thread.

cheers

Yeah, what's with the key ring anyway? It looks so...."Bubba-ish" like you'd almost expect the "Sling" to have been hijacked off a Duffle bag

Sure, "Completely different". If you call a longer barrel and different laser engraving a "Completely different" rifle, then they are not lying to you

It really doesn't matter what they are as long as the people who purchased them enjoy them.

As for this thread... it is heading the same way the original VZ post went...Slagging :!: Those who are preaching should know better.

Why not give the people who bought them some space :?: Its NON-Restricted so have fun with them guys, I am sure you will love them.

In my humble opinion all these rifles should be the same, except of course for the barrel. I haven't read much about the origins of these two different versions of the VZ-58. But one thing is certain, the fact that all East European countries have huge stockpiles of weapons of all sorts(I should know that 'cause I am from there 8) ), including these. My guess is that these rifles were taken out of Czech military surplus, some complete, some just as parts even and "redone" for the "Canadian Customer". If my memory serves me well, the rifle has been out of production for years...so they're all from storage. The reason why Wolverine claims they are different than the Marstar ones, is that he could distance himself from the whole Marstar thing and so that it doesn't look as if he followed their lead(I would have done the same). This is only my opinion 8) but I could be wrong.

back on track here, I contacted OKO about the sight featured on the CZ .VZ 58 from their website. The reply mentioned that this was their sight, AND their mount.

I plan to get one eventually. Do i care about any of the BS? NO! Im not expecting some cheese eating factory fresh remington, Im expecting a military style/quality firearm. What do you really expect for the price? And frankly, were so bombarded with crap and misleading advertising every day of our lives, is this really that harmful? the iomportant thing to remember here is CAVEAT EMPTOR. If you have ANY doubts, then dont buy it. In this world, people who expect any thing less are asking to be burned. Besides, would it actually stop you from buying one of these guns? Frankly, when I go to buy a bag of chips I dont really give two ####s if it says zero fats, or recycled parts or whatever on the bag. because I know what to expect inside, no matter what anyone or thing says. Even if its a 700 dollar bag. A 700 dollar bag of chips that looks like an AK. I want my AK47 lookalike!!! JUST BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE AN AK!!! HAHAHAA.

somebody had to say it

Wow... a whole 83 posts huh? Think of it this way. If you showed up at the Honda dealer to pick up your new Civic that you just paid the very low price (for a new car) of $16,000 for, would you be pissed if your "new production" car had 20,000 km on it? Now what if you found out it's not even a 2005 model year, but a 2001? Would it ease your suffering to know that the dealer put a new coat of paint on it and changed the oil before selling you this "new made" car?

Judging by your last line or two, maybe you really ought to be shopping here - seems a little more your speed and you can have an "AK" too:

I could be wrong but maybe the wording of both Marstars and Wolveriens ads to say "New production" is to try and stay away from saying that these are made from old surplus FA rifles and have them all be prohibited by our Gov, and not be able to be enjoyed by anyone without a grandfathered licence.

Just a thought

Judging from the pics I saw of the vz when they came out and the pics I see now of this batch, Wolverine's rifle looks (to me) better. I have no connection good or bad to either company but the latest ones look like a better product, IF you don't mind a longer barrel.

Time will tell there, very well could be some bad ones in Wolverine's batch as well but for now I like what I see, maybe because they had to refinish the whole rifle to match the new barrel? I realize it's just paint but it does look good. I'm eager to hear how they shoot.

I'm not trying to flame anyone here, I'm just stating an opinion.
