That depends what you consider a disadvantage. Put a 30-06 length magazine and shorter bolt-stop in there, and you will find that world of reaching the lands with a repeater is your oyster.

As is something with a properly dimensioned throat. I have ZERO issues hitting the lands with anything I've put in the short box of my Remington 700 .243.

Which is one of many reasons why it was a poor choice. You can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink as they say. Problem is, 85% of the advice coming from gun/hunting forums is worth exactly what you paid for it.

It's just your typical everyday T3, nothing special about it other then it's mine.

Oh yeah, my buddies kind of partial to it too. When it comes out of the safe he tends to babysit it for me. Anyone who bad mouths my .243 will have to answer to him!

If we take 10 Tikka T3s and 10 700 BDL/CDLs and do a test, will the Remingtons have anywhere near the accuracy of the Tikkas?

I am guessing the smart money would be on the Tikkas.

I have owned Remington 700s and I have owned Tikkas....... I currently don't own ANY Tikkas. I own 9 Model 700s.......

I will take a Finnish Tikka over a Japanese Weatherby or Browning any day. For a functional, reasonably priced sporting rifle, they are a great choice. Plastic might not be as pretty to look at as a deep bluing job, and feel cheaper in the hand, but i have yet to hear anyone ##### about breaking the plastic parts on a Tikka.

It might not be a ridiculously priced, marginally better custom M70, but it will fill its purpose just fine.
