I opted for a Tikka. Thanks all for your input.

I opted for a Tikka.
Good job. I would have too. The only negative is the long action in a short action caliber.

That depends what you consider a disadvantage. Put a 30-06 length magazine and shorter bolt-stop in there, and you will find that world of reaching the lands with a repeater is your oyster.
As is something with a properly dimensioned throat. I have ZERO issues hitting the lands with anything I've put in the short box of my Remington 700 .243.
Bet he can't do that with his new Tikka.
Which is one of many reasons why it was a poor choice.
I like my new rifle, thanks.![]()
of course.......how about a picture or two?
Bet he can't do that with his new Tikka.
If we take 10 Tikka T3s and 10 700 BDL/CDLs and do a test, will the Remingtons have anywhere near the accuracy of the Tikkas?
I am guessing the smart money would be on the Tikkas.
Which is one of many reasons why it was a poor choice. You can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink as they say. Problem is, 85% of the advice coming from gun/hunting forums is worth exactly what you paid for it.
