Well... The Semi Auto RPD FRT data is published...

I'm generally not one for conspiracy theories, but when the US BATF documentation says these receivers aren't easily converted to full auto, and the Canadian lab under a Liberal gov't says they are... it becomes very difficult not to have suspicions.

That is not a suspicion.

A persistence of error or dissenting factual opinion is equivalent to and inseperable from a demonstrated presence of malace.

You just need someone in the right place to insist that 'in their opinion' left is right and there you are.

The true facts or laws or intent thereof etc have zero effect in or on the matter.

I'm personally awaiting an official response by Arms East, they probably have a much better insight as opposed to a few sentences posted here. If Arms East will pursue this matter further to get the rifles classed as NR I will let my payment ride to the end before I cancel/give up
 
anyone care to ballpark a cost to a legal challenge on this? The current firearms support organizations seem to be good at raising funds and with the 10/22 magazine debacle we have seen cooperation amongst the groups. They could do a gofundme style campaign to raise funds to challenge this. The point wouldn't necessarily be to get the RPD frt approved but to challenge the lab's methodology and conclusions.
 
I cant wait for Soloman or another Firearms lawyer to get ahold of the ATIP's Claven2 suggested. There is no way it womt be full of dirty politics skirting Canadian law.

Tough to say. I would guess at $20K per level of court, it would depend if the RCMP wanted to try and go the distance to attempt to dismantle Hasselwander.

Haha, hard to argue with that. What's the best way to stand up to it? Finding fault or inconsistency with their statements/logic would go a long way to discrediting mandates like this and the 10/22 issue. Then what, catch it, document and send in to your MP?

Actually being an LMG in the looks department does mean something (even though it shouldn't) The rcmp have prohibited guns in the past based solely on there resemblance to a version that is named prohib. I never said the RDP was named prohib, I asked if it was named prohib.
 
I've seen a semi auto m60 with a silly 5 round belt at the range so it really doesn't mean anything. It's all on how long their masters let out their leash.

Liberal and NDP supporters are immune to logic. The court system, LEO orgs, media, and politicians are aware and want all the power. They are not concerned about the basic rights or privileges of anyone. You are not going to make a wonderful logical argument and win the day. The long term "Chinese view" of getting what you want over time by any legal means is the only solution that works. The antis are doing this. Unwittingly working hard for the political parties and senior LEOs to rule over them in a totalitarian way. The antis are not thinking their evolution through to the end, to their own detriment.

I wonder if the SFSS is going to tell the BATFE that a gun that BATFE said was not readily convertible is actually easy to convert?
I guess our guys are smarter than the Yanks.

I'm going to guess that the Yanks are smarter than that & they realize that the SFSS are just using this mechanism to deny legal firearms to law abiding Canadians...

And in doing so, will know that law & due process are a JOKE in Canada...

There is no named lmg based on the rpd that is prohibited. Regardless, that is not what they are saying makes it prohib.

Yes I am aware. I checked the frt and as stated, it says that it can be easily converted to automatic. That's the typical "easy way out" excuse given by the lab. Same thing is going to happen to the FN SCAR recently submitted by irunguns.

Well if the lab, as is typical, takes 3+ years to rule, maybe a new government will be in power? I doubt it though.

Is there more data? There has to be more info on how it is easy.

They seem to be more demanding on that front as well.... I think the company should demand more info and raise a stink, but nobody wants to fight anymore...
