What .45 aside from a 1911 would fit my requirement list?

Ah...so SIG and CZ both lead with 25% each. FN follows close with 20%, HK and Glock have 10% each and Springfield and Jericho got 5% each...
Tells me something.
Now, you SIG,CZ and FN guys...how does it feel to shoot, how is the trigger, how is it for parts ( spare mags and so on?)

My p-226 is a roll in the mud dirty girl.....my shadow is my princess, but wow...great trigger...hk45 is new to me, but first time out I shot a 2" ragged hole at ten yards...trigger is different to the others, might need the lem kit....so I'm undecided...wouldn't sell any of them....adding a Sti next so I'll see....

For a couple hundred bucks more you could get the FNX tactical. This is the only non 1911 that I own, I've own most guns and calibers out there and the 1911 has always been my favorite. The fnx is a close second, once you get the trigger reset down she's a dream.

Edit went and snapped a quick pic

Sure, looks convincing ...now, how about that trigger? Is it kinda Glock-ish?

Ummm...5.6" small, 140 lbs, no sausage fingers...what's the difference between the two, and what would you recommend?

In that case i"d be tempted to go with the single stack p220. more compact grip compared to the others i'd say. sig does make 10 round mag for the 220 though they hang out the bottom.

Here's a pick of the stainless Match Elite that others rave about. (me too)

Heard about the trigger...so what is different? Can't be too bad if you do a 2" hole ( I only can do that with my Kimber 1911 @ 7yd)

I got single stack in my 1911s already...but i must admit the match elite looks like a "have to have" ...if it can be had in my (see first post) price range.Looks expensive, sig was never cheap to start with.

i bought from Cabelas a couple years ago for 1200. Awesome price. Now are around 1350 which is still very good given the $. Not sure if cabelas has any in stock though (look like limited stock in Edmonton possibly)

Don't get a usp unless you like holding a cinder block.
Don't get a a cz97 cause I don't like them and I said so
Don't get a Springfield XDM cause I think they're lame.

The sig p220 is a nice pistol, I like shooting it and it feels nice in the hand… but realistically, don't get one.

If you want a 45 semi auto with a 6" or less barrel, 4.5lbs or less trigger and 10rd cap…

Get a 1911 and buy some 10 rounders :p

Can ya guess where my allegiance lies? ;)

Edit: and for the love of all thats holy don't get a glock, I'd rather see ya vote dipper cou:

I hear ya! That's why i have still 10 1911's...but there is something with appearance...a mag sticking out 2-3" just looks awkward to me. Would have the right dimensions on a 8" longslide 1911,tho.Want to try something else...
And no worries about the glock or dippers. I tried a (9mm) glock 17 once, and really disliked the trigger...all my DA revolvers do better than that.
If i vote dippers or commies, come over and shoot me,PLEASE!!! This only could happen with incurable brain disease.

I have the 97 and the MP45. Love them both. Both are 10 round mags.

Trigger wise......one is hammer DA/SA and the other is striker fired. The MP needs the Apex kit, but once in, it feels almost like a polymer 1911 (but not quite.....maybe it's the grip angle too?)

The CZ is a CZ. More accurate than me or anyone else who's shot it. I'm not a fan of the screw in bushing, but I'm not a fan of the 1911 bushing either. It DOES help increase accuracy, as it can be tightened up if needed. Other than that, very mild recoiling owing to the steel frame and very accurate owning to the "slide inside the frame" design. The Jericho is a copy.

I like the 220, but find it's like shooting a 1911 with a DA/SA trigger.

Now if I had to choose, I'd probably go with the MP due to me having wilderness carried it for a few years in the US and appreciate it's light weight, but it's awfully close. Holsters are easier to find as well. One thing to be aware of is that MOST MP45 will have a 1911 style safety on them. Some might even have the magazine disconnect (mine doesn't).

Now to make things more complicated, there is a PPQ in .45 as well in the pipeline.................

Not in Saskatoon...but I'll look into that. Thanks,
