What ammo do police forces carry in their pistols?

RCMP uses Winchester SXT 147 grain hp 9mm, as well as Remington Golden Sabre 147 grain hollow point. The old crusties still have the Teflon coated Black Talons in their mags.

I work for for an armored car company that still uses the Smith and Wesson Model 10 .38 special with Speer +P Positive 135 gn JHP Gold Dots. We are supposed to transition to the S&W M&P in .40 cal within the next 100 years (HAH!), but in the meantime, I don't feel too bad about the ammo we are currently issued. It sure beats the lame ass SWC's that were standard carry when I was first employed over 20 years ago....

Hey not only the old crusties have them. I managed upon a box. The RCMP also use to use the federal hydro shock. It is still on the approved list.
