Get real! Who would train the shooter of a very accurate round like the .223/5.56 not to aim for the head or chest cavity? Why? A wounded enemy is still capable of shooting back, blowing stuff up, warning others etc. If that's military tactics then why are there so many dead Al-Queda and Taliban out there with one .224" sized hole in their heads?!?
Hate to tell you guys , but he IS right ! When I was in the military back in the early 80's we were told to attempt to wound and not kill, the logic was that if you wound, it takes out at least 3 ..... one wounded, and 2 to carry the wounded out. now that being said, yes they were/are? being told it is preferable to wound , but in reality who is going to go to extremes to follow that q r and o ? when being fired upon you don't really have the time to aim , you pretty much shoot blind hoping to hit something , and yes this is why the word "regrettable" is in the statement about afghanistan , because they WERE and are being told to kill not wound , because those guys are so battle hardened from years of conflict they treat themselves and keep on shootin, so the rules change for the occasion , personally i think "shootem all let god sort em out in the end
