What does everyone use as their "bush" gun?

If I'm going into the Really thick crap I take one of the 30-30's.
Usually the Carbine 94 Winnie in 30 WCF !
It will Kill anything inside of 100 meters and a 170 Flatpoint drops Blackbears like a sack of Poo :dancingbanana:

Remington 760/.308 Carbine with 1.5x5 Leupold
Remington 7600/35Whelen 1.5x6 B&L Balvar
Browning BLR .358 (on it's way to me :D )

.

Winnie 94 in 30/30 for all the above mentioned reasons.

Remy 7400 Carbine .270 win.

And the Mini-14. Just cause it's my fav plinker. And FYI it'll drop a deer no probs.

Tikka T3 Battue in 30/06. It had really nice open sights. I say had because I took them off to mount a scope and lost the damn things........

Stoegar says 250.00 bucks to replace them:confused:

A Remington 870 18.5" 12 gauge. ATI topfolding stock c/w a shell carrier with 5 magnum 1oz slugs. Sits accross the front handles of my KX 250.

Remington Model 700 .35 Whelen with a 1 x 4 Vari X II
Browning A-Bolt II in .270 Win with a 1.5 x 5 Vari X-III
The one thing that allows virtually any rifle to be a "bush gun" is a low powered scope with a wide field of view. I have shot animals running at close range in heavy cover with both of the above rifles.

Exactly .... Lots of times you see fellows ask what kind of scope for their new ### caliber rifle without commenting on the type of hunting that it will see.

I use a 2x7 on my 22/250, cuz it will be used as a deer rifle in mixed terain.

i have a cz550 fs with the manlicher stock in 3006 for sights on it i have a high mount scope base with a see through hole to use the iron sites as back up and the scope is a leupold vx2 1-4 power with the german no 1 reticle dangerouse game scope got my buck in northern alberta at 125 yards in the head from the standing lucky shot

I've been happy with my Winchester 94 Big Bore in 356 win. with a leupold 2x7 campact scope. Last year I took off the scope and installed a peep sight. It's come with me on camping and fishing trips since then but I haven't used it for hunting without the scope. Great gun, great cartridge.

I've got a few favorites I use:

Marlin 1895 G 45-70 (iron sights)
Ruger 96/44 (iron sights)
Ruger 99/44 (iron sights)
Win 94 Trapper 30-30 (red dot sight)

I have a few others but these are my top choices.
