1. You probably aren't going to find any subsonic 556 ammo that functions out of an AR platform. Maybe with a 22LR conversion kit, but certainly not out of any normal/off the shelf AR/M16/416.

2. Simply a matter of physics, at the same velocity, the heavier projectile has more energy.

but if you say make it a piston gun with a can...? Like a 416? I get the physics on weight, but Im puzzled why theres a huge shift away from 9mm subguns with cans for use in cqb in urban environments especially if an SBR with a can wont allow the ammo to frag. Or am I missing something? Noise wise isnt a suppressed 9mm MP5SD alot quieter than a suppressed shorty AR? A can cuts off what on average like 20-30db from these guns?

So if its all subsonic wouldnt the best gun be like a suppressed UMP in .45 due to bullet weight?

LE can use BTHP, PSP, and bonded rounds.

Even a 10.5" will frag to 10-15m with M855.

The main issue is the "you run what you brung". While 9mm may be good for inside a small house -- if your tgt goes outside - you little subgun is not longer a very practical weapon. The 5.56mm carbine is the one stop shopping answer for this.

5.56mm Subsonic --- DONT.

you think AR SBRs have a limited future? Especially with some of the mini cans available for the M4s that are out now? Ive seen some of your pics in the past with the melted smoking cans... you prefer them or dislike them?

#### I gotta move to the US...im missing out on owning anything fun.. :D

I shot a full auto MP5 once, and honestly I could not shoot one f**kin mag without it jamming on me. Maybe this MP5 was poorly maintained or something, but I swear to god after like 10 rounds it would jam.

This is my only experience with anything made by HK, and it wasn't a good one...

WTF in COD4 it is soo good... whats going on? ;)

My arguement is about the bloody fan boys who rant about they're products yet never handle them on most occasion and never will

See even those who have never handled/fired one have heard it through the rumour mill that HK fire-arms are of decent quality/build/functionality... and therefore they are 'fan-boys' of HK.

And justly so... I was one of'em untill I bought my HK USP in 45... its a sweet pistol, having fired a few others I really like the USP.

Its word of mouth, and the reason the HK products make it into these games in the first place.

Dont blame these wannabees... blame sociaty and HK for making a great product :D

HK Products are well built

I own the P7M8 and that pistol is an exceptionally accurate ... yeah it does get really hot really fast but it was built for the german police for conseal carry ... not for IPSC. And I have shot the UMP and G36 and they are worth every penny HK sells them for ... (dont mean the overpriced canadian market)
I love the design of the UMP ... I like it more than the MP-5 ... its a combo of an AR-15 with a MP-5 and its only 4.5 Lbs empty.
Everything they have put out that I have owned or borrowed has been a delight.
Yay HK :dancingbanana:

The only thing from hk that is outstanding is the p7..and they don't make it anymore. The rifles all suck including the mp5 (unless u like binging people in the head with empty casings)

I think HK makes pretty good guns. I shot an mp5 once, it was pretty awesome. Since were talking about p7s, i shot a p7m8 and after i shot it i wanted to buy it but there like $2000 and they dont make them anymore.

For reliability, HK guns can't be beat.

The hype comes from HK being a truly top-notch, well-engineered product; it isn't a well-engineered top-notch product because of the hype. An important thing to realize, I'd think.

I own an HK USP compact in .45ACP and a 1911 in the same; if I knew trouble was about to knock on my door, I'd load both my HK mags before I even uncased my 1911. The handling - even for a compact .45 with full-house Hydra-Shok loads - is unreal. It settles faster than my full-size 1911, I like the trigger far better, and the decocker just adds to re-holstering safety. I've had close to 2,000 rounds through it and not a SINGLE failure to feed or fire. Not ONE. I've even intentionally 'mis-loaded' a round in the mag in an attempt to get the thing to stovepipe, but the breech geometry still picked up the leading edge of the bullet's nose (and it was a gaping JHP round) and fed it straight and true.

I'd bet my life on HK anytime, as would most other owners I've talked to. Until you've owned and shot an HK, I don't think it's even possible to 'get it'. I sure didn't.

Well, the belted earl has spoken...Never considered a MP-5 a rifle however but enlighten us with your personal experiences.
