If you're familiar with Mossberg/Maverick, take a look at the Mossberg 935/930 series.

I've been reading up on benelli shotguns ... nice stuff as they sound bombproof! I'm undecided whether to get a semi-auto or not ... and spring is around the corner ... :D

I have a Nova and while I am a firm believer in form following function, it would seem that the people at Benelli have gone out of their way to make exceptionally gaudy, ugly, and downright bizarre looking firearms.

They are as reliable as a stone, though.

I really should take a picture of a colleague's Benelli. I'm sure if I sent it in to them they'd buy him a new one. There is no blue left, the stock has duct tape in some critical locations, he keeps a piece of metal in his pocket to work the bolt because he lost or broke the original. It has to have 10k rounds through it.

don't you know?- for geese one must have the MARLIN GOOSE GUN- 12 guage bolt, 3 round magazine, and 36 inch barrel- anythiing more isn't sporting

t-star, I own a Mossberg bolt action, 3 magazine adjustable choke shotgun ... sadly, my brother in-law broke the stock on it ... can't seem to find another stock to replace it! :(

I love my Benelli!

Get the Cordoba, or if on a budget the Stoeger M2000. Both are simple interia driven, bomb proof, and handle like a dream.

In 40+ years of waterfowling, I'm certain I've killed hundreds of geese ... Canadas, Snows and Whitefronts mostly, from dug pits, blinds, over water and from layout boats, in at least 5 Provinces, with everything from Model 12's and 101's, a SX-1, an Ithaca 600, a borrowed Perazzi Mirage, Browning Superposed & Citori's, Remington 58, 1100 and 11-87's, a Beretta 409, 682, 686, DT-10, and 391, a Classic Doubles, an AyA, a Grulla, an A.H. Fox and a Parker amongst others.

My "go to" is still the venerable Remington 870.

If I were to "specialize", I think I might turn to the Beretta Extrema with KO.
