What makes a good hunter

The best hunter is proficient with his weapon. He knows the game that he is persuing, and can easily identify and cleanly take it. As well, the best hunter has respect for the environment, game, property, and other people.

Im sorry guys my question wasn't supposed to be about the difference between road hunter and non road hunters, it was more to find out if you can be a successful hunter without bring game home.

As humans we are hunters and gatherers. For me, good hunting is the quality of memories that I have gathered. A good feed of buterflied back strap helps:D

I once hunted Moose with a crew of five White guys and two Indians (Aboriginals). Two Moose were shot and not by the White guys. We worked our asses off while the Aboriginals walked the road. It was with a twinkle in their eyes that they said: "White men get wet, Indians get Moose".

If you consistently kill something you're a good hunter. If you rarely kill something, you're a poor hunter.

Hunters that have filed down their incisors to points and tackle the deer from behind and cut their throats with their teeth are the best hunters. The rest of us are mere posers.

I had an answer, but i like this one better :D

I think shooting a lot of game does not necessicarily(SP, it's 10:33, and I've been up a while!) make you a good hunter. I think many a very good hunter takes just what they need, as they don't see themselves needing to limit out on game. The experience is what does it for me. The meal is just tasty afterwards.
