What makes a good hunter

X2!

One of the best I've heard so far.

So if a guy has no family or friends, but goes hunting by himself he is a lousy hunter??????

People give your head a shake. Being a good teacher maybe makes a good hunter better, BUT it has nothing to do with being a good hunter to begin with

What good is a hunter that refuses to pass his skill along to other generations?

Nobody says you aren't a good hunter if you don't have family or friends, but hunting is a lot more than just bagging game.

No family no friends = does not exist

Give your own head a shake.

Nothing can be learned other than that which is apriori/aprori without a teacher. Whether that teacher is a book, internet sight or person.

A good teacher has everything to do with a good hunter. Your exception with this is confusing? No doubt you are a great hunter teaching others. Oh yeah, teaching is not important:confused:

I guess all the hunters I knew when I grew up where bad hunters. Non of them taught me. I learned by myself. teaching and passing on has little to do with being a good hunter.

So does teaching also make you a good father, or driver or anything else for that matter? Or does it strictly relate to hunting.

No family no friends = does not exist

Must be nice to live in your rosey world. Theres probably no crime or hunger in your world too.

Hunters that have filed down their incisors to points and tackle the deer from behind and cut their throats with their teeth are the best hunters. The rest of us are mere posers.

I concur...I prefer to drink the blood of my slaughtered game animal and eat its heart while its still pumping...the rest of you must be road hunters or something

ZIIIING!!!!

kidding of course, hunt the way you hunt, dont poach, dont endanger anyone and have fun:sniper:

Teaching is essential to many things. In fact, in my career, I can not renew my license without having devoted a required amount of time to teaching and mentoring.

Teaching definitely makes you a good father. As with being a father, or a good hunter, a good driver, you teach and pass on good advice, information and skill. That's why I said you need a good teacher, not just any teacher...

When you mature, you'll understand these things.

As for "No Family = Does not exist"
No person exists that does not have family. This is simply a fact, not my Rosey world oppinion.

I would say a good hunter is one that does not attempt to rank other hunters and their legal methods of hunting. Your question is designed to create division amongst the hunting brotherhood, shame, shame, shame!

For your information, plenty of hunters are not as able bodied as others and may not be able to get off the road too much. My dad is an example of that. He has a bad back. Still likes to get out with me when he can. If we get something, I'm the one that does the hard work, but he still gets to enjoy the hunting experience. That's both legal and ethical in my book!!!

Amen!! My father is in the same boat.
