What Shotgun did you shoot your FIRST bird with? and do you still have it?

Still yet to shoot one with a real gun, hopefully this year I plan on going out waterfowl hunting! But I will play anyways, I have shot one bird with my pellet gun up north at my grandparents cottage.

It was an unmarked make double barrel 20ga / 45-70 that was my great grandfathers. He gave ot to my grandfather for his first rabbit/deer gun. My grandfather gave it to his oldest of 2 boys who gave it to my dad. My dad gave it to me and I shot a deer with it first when I was 13. Then a partridge at 14. Still have it but its been shelved as the 20ga firing pin is very iffy and stock has cracked. Gonna get her restored when my daughters old enough

The first bird I ever shot was a Drake Goldeneye with the Browning BPS that my grandfather purchased for me when I was 15 years old! Still have it, but don't shoot it much.

A ruffed grouse with a Cooey 410 which I still have. My first duck was Mallard shot in the Luther Marsh with my Marocchi O/U. That was the first gun I ever purchased, it is long gone now but it was a fine shotgun for the price.

First bird I shot would have been a pigeon with an Iver Johnson 20 gauge single shot that I got from my uncle. He had gotten it from his uncle, but it was originally purchased by my great grandfather when he came to Canada.

I still have it, but haven't fired it in over a year because the barrel is pitted quite a bit.

First bird was a hen mallard with my remington versa max last year, the barrel is bulged from a tap, rack, bang performed in the marsh with a wad still in the barrel. Still have it and am waiting on a new barrel, and I've learned to only mess with stoppage drills when using other peoples guns :p

That would've been robins and dickie birds with a BB gun.

First shotgun kill was a ruffed grouse with my father's old single shot 12 gauge I snuck out of the house in twp pieces ; barrel in my gun boots butt stock under my arm.

Shot a Hungarian Partridge with a Marlin Goose Gun when I was 13...and like...100 lbs soaking wet. I'm (not surprisingly) flinch free firing most guns after that 'break out' gun. Shot it til I left home at 17, didn't know it kicked, lol. Nothing to compare it to; oh wait...I also got to shot the Jungle carbine...that was about the same, " Doesn't kick"
