The first rifle I had, passed down, was an old ;) Cooey Senior I believe was the model. For my first Moose & Deer rifle, Dad started me out with a Simpon-Sears sporterized Lee Enfield, ;) in 303Br. The first I actually purchased, when we decided to upgrade from the Lee Enfields, was a Parker Hale Super Safari in 308 Norma Mag.

First centerfire rifle I bought was a new Ruger Model 77 (tang safety) in 7 x 57. With a Leupold Vari-X 2-7 and handloading components. Back in the early '70's.

13 years old, sweeping the floor and dusting guns after school for $1.75 an hour in the gunshop I bought it from.
Still have it.

First one I paid for was a 25/06 rem. Under rated cartridge in my opinion. To each their own.
I enjoyed reading the posts from everyone.

My first hunting rifle I bought for myself was a model 700 BDL in 8mm remington mag....still have it. :)

It was supposed to be a .270 built on a Mauser 98, very pretty rifle and surprisingly light, unfortunately the sellers addict brother in law stole it and a few other guns before I scraped enough cash for it. It worked out though I got a Remington 700 BDL DM .30-06 with a B&L scope for a song.

I put 30/30 then realized it was a 22LR when I was 15. Back then you could buy one as minor after doing your hunter safety course. Man I took lots of rabbits with that gun.
